FAIRMONT BREAKERS LONG BEACH

Mixed feelings about the Fairmont Breakers Long Beach. First I loved the hotel, the history and architecture. Staff who I was in contact with was very friendly. Cannot however fathom how when I checked in booking through American Express, I was given what had to be one of the worst rooms in the hotel. Small room, low floor, no view and the smell of sewage 24 hours a day. Now I should have complained from the start but because we were just there for a quick two days I decided to keep quiet. I was also overcharged for parking but was given a refund when I brought it to the attention of the hotel. Location was great with restaurants, shopping, convention center and tourists attractions within walking distance from the hotel.
Visited the rooftop bar and it was great. Filled with a mixture of people worthy of people watching. Bartender was great and had a very friendly and nice attitude. Breakfast in the lobby was good and the staff was first class and provided great service.
Definitely will give this place again and just pray for a better room.
