KATZ'S DELICATESSEN

Love Katz's Deli in New York since they closed my fave Carnegie Deli. The sandwiches and experience is a must when visiting the Big Apple. Don't despair if the line is long. It goes quickly. We were in and placed our order within 30 minutes. Once you get in every guest is given a number. You must hold on to these because you will not be able to leave without showing it. There are a dozen lines going to the sandwich makers. Don't be shy and jump in and wait patiently. Once at the counter you place your order and it is customary to tip here. Your food will be made quickly and placed on a tray. This is where the fun begins. Now you must find a table. Walk around and observe who is about ready to leave. Camp out near their table and jump on it when they leave. You may end up sitting with strangers from all around the world. We ordered the classic Pastrami and a Reuben. I loved the Reuben because the Cheese, Saurkraut and Dressing break up all the meat and adds layers of flavor.
