I liked the Brooklyn Style Pizza at Pizza Mamo. In fact, it is one of my favorite Pizzas in Honolulu now. The crust is thin and crispy and the sauce is good. For $30 a Pizza however,
I just wished they were a little bit more heavy on the toppings. Loved the Pepperoni and Sausage and wanted more. If you are eating in, be ready to wait 30 minutes or more for your Pizza. I sipped a glass of Pinot Grigio out of a tap while watching people come in and out. Service is non existent here. The guy behind the counter acts like the customers are a bother. He shuttles back and forth from the counter to the kitchen never smiling, greeting customers or saying thank you. He is all business. Give him the order, pay, wait and shut up. I sat there and was amazed how people were treated when they are coming in to pay $30 for a Pizza. A little personality and customer appreciation would go along way here and perhaps increase business because the Pizza is delicious. We tried the Detroit Style with Tomato Sauce, Cheese, Pepperoni, Jalapeño and Honey. Delicious! Thick but very light with great flavor.
I'll definitely be back for the Pizza here.
