Very happy that a customer of mine on Kauai recommended we meet at Rob's Good Times Grill for lunch. I had never heard of the place so I asked a contractor I was working with if he had ever been there. He said "yes" and that it was great. Arrived for lunch and was pretty amazed how large the place was. Clean too which was nice. The Bartender/Waitress was great explaining a little about the restaurant to me and also the menu. She recommended the Special of the Day which was a Prime Rib Sandwich. She went on to mention Horseradish and Au Jus and I was sold right there. Sandwich and service were excellent. Will definitely be coming back here a lot while working more on Kauai.

Once again we loved our dinner at Oasis on the Beach in Kauai. Was not a big fan of the Oasis Poke because it did not seem fresh and was covered in mayonnaise. Clams were good and My Daughter loved the Wedge Salad. We also liked the Caprese Style Tomatoes and House Salad with Beets. Loved my entree of the local fresh fish. The Braised Boneless Short Ribs were excellent and served with a Truffle Fried Rice that blew my mind. Might have been the wine but I liked this rice so much that I ordered a side of it. Mind boggling good with their homemade Hot Sauce. Wow...the truffle flavored rice rocked! Service was excellent and they even gave me a blanket when it got a little cold outside.

After a brief wait in line we entered Pono Market and found the staff very friendly. Heck they even recognized me and my Daughter from our Fujitsu commercials. Gotta give them a 10 for service. While my Daughter loved her Poke Bowl and ate it so fast that I could not get a photo, I was a bit disappointed in my selection of Teriyaki Ahi because they deep fried the fish. The Tako Poke and Ahi Poke were good though.

It's great to have Lava Lava Beach Club right next to our Kauai beach shack. We can walk next door for breakfast, lunch and dinner on the beach and enjoy a beautiful ocean view.

We started with the Sizzling Shrimp which was a bit bland and not a big hit with our table. The Ahi Poke was terrible and we did not eat it all which is amazing because we usually devour Poke. It just was not fresh and had that treated flavor that they use to keep the fish bright red. My Wife liked the Spinugula Salad and I loved the fresh Swordfish which was cooked perfectly, super fresh and delicious. This is one of the reasons I love living in Hawaii when you get fresh fish like this. My Daughter ordered the Chinese Five Spiced Tofu and hated it. We warned her that any dish with a lot of Chinese Five Spice will be overpowering and probably not liked. We were right. Pizza was pretty basic and the Burger was good.

Despite the food not hitting all the notes on this visit, we still loved the service and view.

We loved our lunch at Hualani's on Kauai. What a beautiful spot with great food and service. We started with the Ahi Tuna Sashimi and it was gone before you could enjoy the view. I had the Kalbi Lamb and loved it. The Poke Bowl was a hit with my Daughter and her boyfriend loved the Burger. Actually thought about coming back for dinner as everyone liked the food and service. Great place!
