Orchids at the Halekulani is one of my favorite ocean view restaurants on Oahu.  The food, service and views here are excellent.  On this visit I dined with an old friend who moved to New York to be a Flight Attendant.  It has been five years since we sat down together so it was nice to catch up.  I enjoyed the Tomato Soup and Lobster Caesar Salad.  Both were really good but I was still hungry after this meal.  Portions I thought were a bit small for the price.

Love Orchids.  The food, service and views here are amazing.  The Mushroom Risotto with Foie Gras is one of my favorite dishes ever.  We always order this as an appetizer for the table so everyone can enjoy it.  On this visit I enjoyed the Lasagnette with Prawns.  Perfectly cooked pasta and shrimp.  Delicious.  Definitely one of our favorite restaurants on Oahu!

We recently visited Venice, Italy and our host was simply amazing.  When his family visited Hawaii, you can bet that I wanted to repay him with some Hawaiian hospitality.  Took him and his family to Orchids at the Halekulani.  Enjoyed an amazing dinner, champagne, great service and incredible view and sunset.  Does not get much better than this for a sunset dinner.

The highlights of this meal for me was the Keahole Lobster Tagliatelle and Mushroom Risotto.  Hands down one of the best Risotto's of my life.  We actually finished the plate and ordered another one for the table.  Amazing!
