SILICON VALLEY

I am bit of a geek about seeing tech companies when visiting Silicon Valley.  Even if we cannot get into the buildings, it is nice to see the campuses where so much of the world's technology is coming from.  On this visit we visited the original and new Apple campuses.  The new campus looks amazing even though the views are limited as the oval shaped building is surrounded by trees.  The Visitor Center is beautiful and an architectural delight.  During our visit to the original Apple campus we enjoyed going to the Apple Store where we had the most knowledgable salesperson ever at Apple.  He knew every product in detail and shared so much information with us.  Great shopping experience.  The Google campus is massive and set in a rural area with lots of open space.  Facebook was the most unimpressive.  Pretty ugly campus.  The highlight of Silicon Valley for me was being able to visit the Lucid Motors Headquarters.  No pictures were allowed and I swore not to post any info on what is happening inside.  I can tell you this though.  The Lucid Dream Edition is amazing.  Luxury electric vehicle that I hope is ready in 2022.

APPLE PARK - CUPERTINO, CA

APPLE PARK
ONE APPLE PARK WAY
CURPERTINO, CA

I love all things Apple and years ago we visited the original Apple Campus where I paid my respects to Steve Jobs.  After flying over Apple Park and seeing the 5 billion dollar campus, I just had to make it back to Cupertino on our trip to San Francisco.  As we drove up to the circular building it looked as if it went on forever.  They did a great job hiding the view with trees.  The public cannot enter the campus and is limited to the Apple Store and Coffee Bar across the street.  The Apple Store has a second floor viewing deck where you can see a bit of the building but not much.  T-shirts with the Apple Park logo can be purchased for a mere $40.  While there isn't much to see or do here, it was just nice to be in the Apple hood and dream about what is going on in that beautiful building.  Wish I was younger and could get a job in there!

APPLE CAMPUS AND HEADQUARTERS - CUPERTINO, CA

APPLE
CORPORATE HEADQUARTERS
CUPERTINO, CA

The road to my Dads place went right through Silicone Valley and right past the Apple Corporate Headquarters in Cupertino.  I started reading the Steve Jobs Biography on my Ipad.  After learning more about the man and his company, I just had to stop by and pay my respects.  Love him or hate him, Steve Jobs and Apple have changed the world and technology.  I love everything Apple.  After reading his book and visiting his campus.  I love Apple even more.  We were amazed by the size of the campus.  Buildings everywhere and in every direction.  Nice basketball courts too!  I highly recommend that anyone in business read the biography of Steve Jobs.  It outlines the dreams, tragedies, successes, failures and bizarre to genius personality of a man that was driven to change the world.  And he did!
