A visit to California always starts with a stop at In N' Out Burger. Now according to my girls, it must include a stop at El Pollo Loco. After this meal, I feel the same. Absolutely love

El Pollo Loco and it will be a regular stop on our mainland visits. Love making Burritos using the Chicken and Sides. Add the Chicken, Rice, Beans, Cole Slaw, Corn, Guacamole and Salsa and you have what I think is a better Burrito than Chipotle. My gals agree, they would rather eat at El Pollo Loco over Chipotle. I also tried the Crunchy Chicken Taco and it was one of my all-time favorite Chicken Tacos. Just wish I would have ordered with extra cheese. I am an El Pollo Loco lover just like my gals now!

Loved the Staybridge Suites at Long Beach Airport. Pretty good bang for the buck when you consider we had a two room suite with full kitchen plus breakfast included. A lot less than where we usually stay in a small room. Opted for two rooms since my daughter was staying with us. Worked out perfectly to give her own room, bathroom and privacy. Really liked the common areas and lounge areas. Didn't eat breakfast but there was a nice array of food and my daughter loved the Scrambled Eggs with lots of Jalapeños. Would definitely stay here again. Front Desk staff was super friendly when we checked in and out. Better service and attitude than some of the luxury hotel brands..

This is one of my favorite fish dishes in all Hawaii. Always super fresh and always delicious. Every time I eat this Mahi Mahi Bowl I am already thinking about my next trip so I can enjoy it again. Love the layers of flavors and gentle hint of heat from the Korean sauce.

When you land at the perfect little Long Beach Airport there is an In N' Out Burger five minutes away. This is always our first stop after getting off the evening flight. I get a Single Burger and the wife gets a Double Double. My daughter prefers the Protein Style wrapped in Lettuce. While it seems the beef patties and overall burger are smaller you really cannot beat the price for this quality and flavor. Definitely one of my favorite Burgers.

I don't mind giving up the Lay Flat seats on Hawaiian Airlines if I can fly into Long Beach rather than Los Angeles LAX. Just love the ease and laid back vibe of Long Beach. Service on this flight was as you would expect from Hawaiian. Just the basics with nothing to remember. Food however was better than normal. Actually liked the Lasagna.

This Mahi Mahi Bowl is my "go to" preflight meal when departing from the Honolulu airport.

I have eaten this Bowl a dozen times and it is always fresh and delicious. This is one of the best fish dishes in all of Honolulu and that includes some of the best restaurants. Love the layers of flavors and hint of heat from the Korean sauce. Definitely a Best Bite of 2026!
