Enjoyed a great two night stay on the campus of Duke University. The Washington Duke Inn and Golf Club is actually right on the campus. Loved the look and feel of this hotel and property. Bars and restaurants were filled with Duke students and alumni and the place was packed both nights. Service was good but could be better. This is just probably because the place was busy. Food was excellent. This is the type of hotel I like to relax at. Old school with a bit of class but very comfortable and unpretentious. Everything from golf shorts and t-shirts to suits which I like.
Golf course is beautiful but man the rough is deep and thick here. Your ball can be right in front of you and you cannot see it because it is buried. The Starter even warned me not to spend too much time looking for balls in the rough. Impossible to find he said. He was right. Keep it in the fairway if you can!
