The third stop on our North County San Diego Taco Tour is my ALL TIME FAVORITE TACO SHOP.  Juanitas in Encinitas.  Home of the BEST 3 Rolled Tacos with Guacamole and Carne Asada Burrito.  This is one of my favorite meals ever but with age I just cannot eat all this food any more.  Usually only get one Rolled Taco down and maybe half of the burrito.  Doesn't matter because this is so good and I am satisfied with eating half or less of the portions.  When it comes to Carne Asada Burritos, Juanitas does it right.  Tons of marinated steak, pico de Gallo and Guacamole and that's it.  The flavors melt into a burrito symphony that our entire family just loves.

Juanitas Taco Shop is on my list of Best Restaurants in the World and one of my top picks for a Last Supper.  I have been eating here for over 30 years and still love it.  Whenever I am in San Diego there must be at least one visit for Rolled Chicken Tacos with Guacamole and a Carne Asada Burrito.  Those are my two go two items at Juanitas and nobody does it better.  Taking my first bite of the Rolled Tacos smothered in Guacamole, Cheese and Hot Sauce puts me in heaven.  Bite after bite I just say "yum".  The Carne Asada Burrito is all meat with guacamole and a little lettuce, tomato, onion and cilantro.  Add Juanitas Hot Sauce and "kaboom".  Burrito heaven!

I have been eating at Juanitas Taco Shop for over 30 years.  This is hands down my favorite Taco Stand in America.  I try every Taco Shop I can find in every city that we visit and to date, nobody can beat Juanitas on flavor, portions or price.  Consistently delicious and the place I visit first whenever we are back in San Diego.  This visit was typical with us visiting Juanitas the first full day of our visit.  As usual I went for the Three Rolled Tacos with Guacamole ($3.90) and my Wife went for the Carne Asada Burrito ($6.30).  The Rolled Tacos are the best especially when topped with Juanitas Hot Sauce.  I have eaten a million Carne Asada Burritos and Juanitas has the best.  Great flavored Beef, Guacamole and Pico de Gallo and thats it.  Simple and ohh so delicious.  The tortilla's freshness, flavor and texture really help to make this our favorite Burrito.  After reading a review posted on the wall that praised the Fish Taco, I ordered one to try ($2.95).  Probably one of the best Fish Tacos I have eaten but quite surprised that they used Lettuce rather than Cabbage.  Would have preferred Cabbage but this was a good taco none the less.  Juanitas is a gem and a place I recommend to everyone visiting North San Diego County.  For the price you will not find any better Mexican food anywhere.  Click links below to view previous posts for Juanitas Taco Shop;

Hands down one of my favorite Taco Shops in the universe.  Another trip to San Diego meant a very happy visit to Juanita's.  We ate here for breakfast at 8:00 am.  Yes there were people in line at 8:00 am getting their taco fix for the day.  Taquitos and Tacos for breakfast is heaven to me.  I had the Three Rolled Tacos with Guacamole as I have been for thirty years.  Corn Tortillas, Chicken with Avocado, Cheese and Pico.  Add some great hot sauce and you have what have to be some of the best Taquitos in the world.  I also enjoyed a Carne Asada Street Taco which is a smaller version of Juanita's larger Carne Asada Taco less the Guacamole.  Perfectly flavored beef with crisp onions and cilantro.  Add a squeeze of lime and hot sauce and again pure heaven.  My friend loves the Carnitas Tacos here and he enjoyed one Carnitas and one regular Carne Asada.  Every visit to Juanita's includes a stop at the counter where you can grab a bag of Hot Carrots.  The carrots are marinated in vinegar and spices along with Jalapeños.  The carrots have great flavor and some nice heat.  Click the links below to view other posts on Juanita's.  As you will see my blogs about this place are somewhat a broken record.  Always love the place and eat pretty much the same things here.  Love this place!

So happy to return to Juanitas Taco Shop.  This is one of my all time favorite Mexican restaurants ever.  Have been eating here for over twenty years.  Always go for the Three Rolled Tacos with Guacamole ($2.80) and Carne Asada Burrito ($4.60).  For less than $8 you can have a dinner that is better than many of the fine dining restaurants I have spent hundreds of dollars on.  I am not exaggerating when I say that Juanitas would be tops on the list for my last supper.  To me it is just that good.  From the marinated steak in the burrito to the hot sauce and rolled tacos.  This food is good at midnight after a few cocktails or at noon after a run on the beach.  Eating at Juanitas is simple.  Order at the counter.  Wait a few minutes and bam you have a bag or tray of great food.  Usually there is only one person at the counter who won't say much.  Just a nod after you tell them what you want.  Don't come for the ambiance or service.  Just come to Juanitas for the best low price Mexican food on the planet.

There are few restaurants that I can say that I have been going there for over 20 years.  Juanitas is one of them.  Over 20 years of dining at this little hole in the wall taco joint on Highway 101.  Memories of grinding Carne Asada Burritos after a late night out came back as I sat on the outdoor tables overlooking the highway.  I enjoyed my favorites.  Three Rolled Tacos with Guacamole and a Carne Asada Burrito.  The rolled tacos are filled with chicken and covered in cheese, guacamole, lettuce and salsa.  The Burritos are big.  Filled with a ton of meat, guacamole and Pico.  On this visit I could only polish off about two bites of the burrito after eating the Rolled Tacos.  Just to have a taste of the Juanitas flavor was enough for me.  Satisfied completely.   Absolutely love this place.  

TASTE OF HAWAII FAVORITE.
