Panama Joes keeps scoring high marks for me and the family.  On this visit the food was spot on and probably one of best Mexican meals we have had in a very long time.  The Taquitos ($8.25) here were pure perfection with a perfectly cooked tortilla and tasty filling.  Topped off with just enough Guacamole, Sour Cream and Quesa Fresca.  This was really perfect presentation, ingredients and flavor.  I ordered a Shredded Beef Taco and Beef Enchilada with Rice and Beans ($13.75).  Absolutely delicious.  I usually get a Chicken Enchilada but the Beef has much more flavor.  Perfect amount of Enchilada Sauce with great flavor.  Loved it all.  My Wife had a Chicken Enchilada, Beef Taco and Chili Rellano ($16.49).  She loved the Chili Rellano because it had a very light batter and the flavor of the Chili shined through.  My Daughter had the Carne Asada Plate ($20.49) and loved it.  This is good food and good prices.  Becoming my must go to Mexican spot when visiting my old home town of Long Beach.

I love 2nd Street in Long Beach.  There are so many great bars, restaurants and shops in a very casual environment close to the marina and beaches.  When on 2nd Street, I make it a point to hit Panama Joes Cantina for some good Mexican food.  On this visit I enjoyed some Chicken Taquitos and two Beef Tacos with Rice and Beans.  The Hand Rolled Chicken Taquitos ($6).  Three huge rolled tacos filled with marinated chicken.  These were a meal by themselves and delicious.  The Two Crispy Tacos ($10) is a bargain compared to Hawaii prices.  I went for the Shredded Beef and loved them.  Also loved the beans and rice here.  Full of flavor.  Panama Joes is a great place to eat, drink and enjoy a game.  They have flat screens all over the bar and throughout the restaurant.
