TEQUILERIA RESTAURANTE y CANTINA - HONOLULU AIRPORT

TEQUILERIA RESTAURANTE Y CANTINA
HONOLULU INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

TEQUILERIA RESTAURANTE y CANTINA
HONOLULU AIRPORT
NEAR GATES 12 AND 13
HOURS:  Open Daily: 10 A.M. to 10 PM

Enjoyed a couple of decent tacos at the Honolulu Airport prior to departing to Guam.  Tequileria Restaurant y Cantina located near gates 12 and 13 serves up some quick Mexican food and cold beer as well as mixed drinks, tequila and margaritas.  Not a bad place to hang out before a long flight.  There are views of the planes parked at the gates and a nice patio in front that allows you to people watch while you eat and drink.  The bar is in front and beyond is a very large seating area that gives you plenty of space to spread out your bag or a laptop.  I ordered Two Tacos with Rice and Beans ($12.09).  You can choose your meat filling and either flour or corn tortillas.  I went with corn and was not disappointed.  The taco meats had flavor but they tasted a bit sweet like bbq.  Not a real Mexican taste.  The beans were a bit watery.  Overall I thought this was decent for an airport Mexican Tequileria.

TEQUILERIA AT HONOLULU AIRPORT

TEQUILERIA RESTAURANTE Y CANTINA

You can imagine my surprise when we stumbled upon a Tequileria (Taco Stand) at the Honolulu airport. The placed looked nice and clean so we went in searching for a good Mexican meal before our takeoff to Barcelona. The restaurant overlooks the terminal and many airplanes can be seen from the window. The menu is very limited. Only about 10 or so items total. I asked for chips and salsa and was politely told that it would cost $10. No chips for me. I ordered the Chicken Enchilada Verde which is the house specialty. Two pretty bland chicken tacos served with a green salsa, rice and beans ($12.99). The dish had no cheese which I thought was different. The rice was like Uncle Bens and the Beans were canned. Keli tried the Chicken Quesadillas. These were large chicken and cheese filled tortillas served with some sour creme and frozen quacamole ($11.49). Way too much cheese in these things. Should have just ordered a cold beer here. They looked good and refreshing.
