We made our way back to Waolani Windows because it will close in a few weeks for renovation.

Found that the number of menu items had been reduced a bit but pretty much the same. We started with Sashimi which we requested be cut thin. Normally when we order this the slices are really thick which we do not like for Sashimi. The waitress and kitchen made sure it was perfect to our liking.

The Sashimi was fresh and the thin slices melted in your mouth. Wish I would have ordered another order of this. My Wife enjoyed the Caesar Salad and I had the Chopped Salad with Egg, Bacon and Avocado. Delicious salad but a bit over dressed with the Green Goddess dressing. I ordered the Beef Filet which was cooked to a medium rare and perfectly seasoned. Delicious!

KELI'S 18TH BIRTHDAY AT WAOLANI WINDOWS

Celebrating my Daughters 18th Birthday with her closest friends and a few family members was amazing. Food and service were spectacular. We feasted on fresh Sashimi, Crab Cakes and Escargot for appetizers. The Sashimi was so good that we kept ordering more plates for the table. Crab Cakes were moist and full of crab and served with a nice tarter like sauce. Escargot were gobbled up because they are loaded with butter and garlic. So tasty. The Chopped Salad was great and one order can feed at least two people. The salad is served with a Pesto dressing which my Wife loved but I thought was overpowering. Only item that missed the mark was the Lobster Bisque. My friends said it tasted like Tomato Soup. I tasted it and it was not that good and did taste like Tomato Soup. I went for the Tenderloin and Lobster and it as fantastic. The Lobster must have been poached in butter because it had a sweet buttery taste that was just delicious. Probably one of the best tasting lobsters I have had on Oahu. My steak was cooked to perfection and delicious. Everyone loved the food and our private little party room was perfect! The past 18 years have gone by so very fast.
Like a blur and now my baby is grown up and off to college. I cannot tell you how blessed we are to have such a wonderful Daughter. Keli has been a dream and never given us trouble or drama.
She is a beautiful person that radiates love and happiness everywhere she goes. Keli has a heart of gold and amazes me with her thoughtfulness for others. The day she was born was the best day of my life. Totally changed our world for the better and given us a life of happiness. I love my Daughter more than anything in the World and know she will continue to be a great person in her adult years. Gonna miss my BFF big time and don't know what the World will be like not having her in the house. From the day she was born until today, I give her a kiss every morning before I leave for work and tell her I love her. This is often at 3:30 in the morning and sometimes she wakes and says "love you".

Not too impressed with the new menu or food at Waolani Windows. Past menus and preparations have been better. Love the location and view here and the staff is always great. Loved the Sashimi and French Onion Soup is really good. My Wife liked the buttery Lobster Tail. The Maple Farms Duck looked like a mess on the plate and I cannot fathom how this is presented this way. Not appetizing at all according to my Daughter.

It's been awhile since I blogged about Waolani Windows at Oahu Country Club. The Club has been undergoing some major employee and facilities overhaul which in my opinion have been very positive. New management is placing a focus on the Members, their experience, employees and improving food and beverage. Waolani Windows is the Club's signature fine dining venue with great food, service and views. This place rivals any fine dining restaurant in Honolulu and is a perfect place for family, business and friends. On this visit we entertained one of my Wife's friends visiting Hawaii for the first time. Of course I started my meal with some bubbles which somehow always make food and conversation better. First up was the Sashimi which was so fresh and delicious. Gone was the stupid gold leaf that a previous Chef added to the dish. I just don't want to pay for or eat gold leaf on my food. Next up was Lobster Corn Dogs. Wow...these were so good I could have eaten a dozen. Lobster Tails coated like a Hot Dog and served with Mustard. Yummy...I want them now!

So good and kind of fun to enjoy Lobster on a stick. The Charred Spanish Octopus delivered on presentation and flavors. Loved this dish too. Next up was the Roasted Beet Salad which we always order here. The Beets are so sweet and delicious. Love this salad but never can eat all the Goat Cheese on the plate. We love the Caesar Salad but it was missing the poached egg that the old chef placed on top. Still good but we wanted the egg back on the salad. The table shared the Braised Short Rib Ravioli and it was amazing. So delicious. Everyone loved this dish and I could have eaten the entire plate alone. Definitely will order this again. Works great as an appetizer for table.

The Ginger Crusted Onaga and Pan Seared Kona Kampachi were both excellent and the Steak and Lobster knocked the socks of my Wife and her friend. Presentation and flavors were fantastic. Finished our meal with the Spumoni Ice Cream Pie. One of my favorites desserts ever. Just love this ice cream and the chocolate crust. This dinner was great. Delivered on every level. Love Waolani Windows!
