I have never visited an Applebee's before in my life prior to eating here on the way to Hoakalei Country Club for a little golf. Entire family was impressed with the menu, food and service at the Applebee's in Ewa Beach. We were surprised to enter the restaurant around noon to find it virtually empty. We were quickly seated by a smiling hostess and then greeted by another smiling waitress. Like it when people look and feel happy and actually make you feel welcome. We did feel welcome at Applebee's. The menu here is enormous with lots of big bold photos of the food. Everything on the menu looks good and they offer all kinds of combinations so you can customize your meal to what you like to eat. Really liked being able to choose appetizer and entree combo's. We started with appetizers but my only complaint about the entire meal was all of the food came at once. The appetizers and entrees were all served at the same time so we were a little overwhelmed with the amount of food on the table and quickly realized that our eyes were bigger than our stomachs. We started with a Sampler Combo ($16.50) Steak Quesadillas, Mozzarella Sticks, Buffalo Wings, Spinach/Artichoke Dip and Chips and Salsa. Wow..this was a lot of food unto itself let alone think about the main entrees. To our surprise, everything was good and we could not even finish half of the appetizers. We ordered the Two for $30 which included two entrees and another side. Went for Onion Rings that were delicious and the Spinach/Artichoke Chicken and Four Cheese Mac n' Cheese
with Honey Peppers and Chicken Tenders. Both were a hit with my Wife and Daughter and there was two days worth of food to take home. I went for the 1/2 Rack of Ribs and GrilledChicken ($19.95) with Mashed Potatoes and Green Beans. The Ribs were great and so was the Chicken. Liked the Salsa served with the moist grilled Chicken Breast. Really good. The Green Beans were filled with flavor and a bunch of bacon. Everything was good here and we had four boxes of leftovers. The verdict on Applebee's from the entire family as a unanimous "yes". Good food and service and that is what dining out is all about. Looking forward to having them build another Applebee's somewhere in Honolulu so we don't have to drive to Ewa to eat here.
