I highly recommend flying into Long Beach airport rather than LAX if you can get a decent fare. Normally I have found that it is cheaper to fly to LA but on this flight we got a good fare to Long Beach. We booked Coach and then bid to upgrade to First Class. Both my bids were accepted for flights to and from Long Beach so we got First Class at about one third the cost of what it would have cost when we originally booked our flights. While there are no lay down flat seats, the seats are larger and comfortable. Service is standard Hawaiian. Good but not great. Food was just ok. Chicken and Rice on the way over and a Mushroom Omelette and single Sausage on the return. Best thing was landing in Long Beach where there are very few people and access to the car rental was fast and stress free. You don't need to board a bus or tram. Just walk out of baggage claim and go across the street to your car.
