Always craving a Paniolo Ribeye from D.K. Steakhouse when it comes to eating steak.  What I didn't know on this visit is that it would be our last visit ever.  Turns out just days after I enjoyed my fave Paniolo Ribeye, the restaurant abruptly closed down.  Shocking!  This has been one of my favorite steakhouses in Hawaii for decades and I will miss it.

Whenever anyone asks me where to get a great steak on Oahu, I always mention D.K. Steakhouse.  Their Paniolo Ribeye is one of the best steaks of my life.  I don't even need to look at the menu here.  Always want fresh Ahi Sashimi, Wedge Salad, Paniolo Ribeye and Mud Pie. This meal to me is worthy of a last meal.  So delicious and satisfying.  Service was great.  The only think that disappointed me is they cut up the onions on the steak.  In the past, they put whole slices of grilled Maui Onion on the steak.  Looks amazing.  This steak looked like a mess.

Enjoyed my favorite steak in Hawaii at D.K. Steakhouse.  I love the Paniolo Ribeye with grilled Maui Onions.  One of the best steaks in Hawaii and loved by my Wife and Daughter too.  On this visit my Daughter went crazy over the food and ate like she was starved for a month.  I guess living on her own and eating college food made her appreciate a good meal.

Our entire table started with the Wedge Salad with Blue Cheese Dressing.  The salad is big enough for two people so I recommend you have it split.  The portion shown here is only half of the salad.  The Wedge is served chilled with nice chunks of Blue Cheese.  Seared Ahi is always good here but it is not on the menu anymore.  I asked for it and we got a different version covered in Ponzu sauce.  It was actually delicious.  The special menu included a Truffle Pasta with Scallops.  We ordered this as an appetizer for the table and everyone loved it.  Scallops were cooked to perfection and the Truffle Butter in the Pasta was delicious.  Cannot wait to make this pasta dish at home.  As always the Paniolo Ribeye was the star of the show.  Everyone at the table ordered the same steak.  My Daughter devoured her steak making sure she had a piece of Maui Onion with each bite.  The Twin Lobster Tails were delicious and cooked perfectly with a bit of butter.  This was pretty much the perfect dinner for me.

So happy to get back to D.K. Steakhouse in Waikiki.  The entire third floor deck of the Marriott Waikiki has been transformed into an outdoor oasis and the restaurant is just off the pool deck where there are great views.  On this visit I did not even have to open the menu.  

I knew I wanted Seared Ahi, Wedge Salad and the Paniolo Ribeye.  The Seared Ahi was not on the menu but they made it with a Truffle Oil sauce.  Wow...just fantastic.  The table ate it so fast that I did not even get a picture of it.  The Wedge Salad was chilled and huge.  They serve it with Thousand Island Dressing rather than Blue Cheese.  I prefer a good Blue Cheese but this was delicious.  The Paniolo Ribeye was steak perfection.  Season and cooked perfectly and served with those sweet Maui Onions that I love.  Taking a bite of the onion with the steak is heaven.  This is my favorite steak in Hawaii.

DK's has our families favorite steak in Hawaii.  The Paniolo Ribeye is incredible.  Hey I love a Petite Filet from Ruths Chris but the Paniolo Ribeye with Maui Onions gets my vote as the best steak on Oahu.  All four of us at the table ordered the same steak.  Paniolo Ribeyes.  On this visit I really enjoyed the French Onion Soup which had a crispy cheese top and a sweet onion flavor.  One of the best I have ever had.  The Monster Shrimp Cocktail was also top notch as they were chilled, large and sweet.  The Thick Cut Bacon was also a treat and the Chutney that came with it took the flavor to another level.  The only disappoint was the DK House "Must Try" Wagyu Bresaola Carpaccio.  Really did not impress anyone at the table.  Here's a tip;  There is one four top table on the outdoor patio.  The rest are all two tops.  Ask for the four top outside if you have four people.  We wish we would have done this.
