After eating a Shrimp Plate at Giovanni's on the North Shore, it is time for a Shave Ice at Matusmoto Shave Ice. Get ready to stand in line and people watch because this place is always busy. They have a good system of taking your order prior to entering the store. When you reach the cash register, they have your order already which expedites the service. Shave Ice is good and refreshing on a hot day.

Iolani School is not only the greatest educational institution in Hawaii it has one of Hawaii's best Fairs each year in April. While the kids come for the rides and games most of us hit the Iolani Fair for the great food booths. There are dozens of booths with everything from Fried Noodles to Turkey Legs. I usually hit as many as my stomach can possibly take. This year I had to have a Waffle Dog but made the mistake of ordering the Deluxe version with cheese. All the cheese ruined the flavor of the dog. Not too good. My favorite of the evening was the Grilled Corn on the Cob. Super sweet. We enjoyed Kauai Shrimp with Sweet Potato Gnocchi. Loved the Shrimp, not so keen on the Gnocchi. The Tacos were good and the Shave Ice hit the spot on this warm evening. Just a great time cruising the food booths, playing some games and shopping for fresh vegetables and snacks.
