When it comes to Steak, my Wife can cook one as good as any Steakhouse in Hawaii.  Her Filet Mignon cooked medium rare is the best!  This meal was perfect.  We started with our favorite appetizer of Tartufo Cheese with Raspberry Jam.  This combination of flavors on a piece of toasted Garlic Bread cannot be beat.  A delicious Caesar Salad followed by the Steak and I was in heaven.  Does not get much better than this.

Had a pretty stressful few days and my Wife told me to just relax and she would make dinner.  She delivered a perfectly cooked Filet with Grilled Onions and Zucchini.  This was perfect and enjoyed on our lanai with a nice Cabernet.  These 8oz steaks from Whole Foods are the perfect size for me.  Love them!

This was pretty much a perfect dinner for us.  All the flavors and textures we love.

Probably the best Bacon Wrapped Asparagus I have ever tasted.  The small salad with Beets and Crumbled Bleu Cheese with crispy chilled lettuce was perfect and the steak....well it was perfection.  My Wife cooks steak like a fine dining restaurant.  Maybe better.

Our family does not eat a lot of meat at home and we rarely go out to a steakhouse unless guests are in town.  When we do enjoy a steak it is usually a small filet that we sear on both sides and then place in the oven for a few minutes.  A little salt, pepper and butter and you have a restaurant quality meal at a fraction of the cost.  Steak dinner for three on this evening was under $30 for everything.  This steak was as good as any I have had at expensive steak houses and it was enjoyed in the comfort of our dining room.

Our daughter will eat most anything.  Last year she requested Escargot and Rack of Lamb for her birthday dinner and i made it for her.  When I asked her if she would rather go out to dinner or even to Dave and Busters she said "no Daddy.  I just want to eat at home".  What would you like I said.  Caesar Salad, that pasta with the mushrooms and a petit filet" she quickly rattled off.  We did the Caesar and added Japanese Cucumbers and Anchovies because she loves them both.  I cooked up Pappardelle Pasta with a Sage Butter Sauce and exotic mushrooms.  A Petite Filet Mignon completed this birthday dinner fit for a 12 year old queen.  So blessed to have an incredible daughter and family that just loves staying home hanging out together.

Enjoyed  a few ounces of beef along with some mashed potatoes and little wheels of zucchini stuffed with creme cheese, goat cheese and some fresh basil.  Crusted the steak with salt, pepper, onion powder and a bit of brown sugar.  Seared on a hot grill pan and then placed in the oven to finish cooking to a perfect medium rare.
