There are at least three things you cannot find in Hawaii. Good Pizza, Mexican food and Sub Sandwiches to name a few. When I read that a mainland Sub Sandwich chain named Jersey Mike's was coming to town I was excited. If I could get an Italian Sub like New York or Chicago. With my anticipation and excitement rising we hit Jersey Mike's after hitting some golf balls on the driving range. We entered to find a busy environment with Sub Sandwiches being made and devoured. I took a minute to step back from the line and observe the menu. My Daughter saw
Roast Beef and Provolone and immediately said she wanted that. I went for the Italian ($9.75 Reg)
with Ham, Cappacoula, Salami, Pepperoni and Provolone. Was surprised to see the gal behind the counter hand slice the meats for the sandwich. She then passed the sandwiches to the left where you can choose your toppings. The gal asked if I wanted "Mike's Style" and I asked her what that was. She said with Lettuce, Tomatoes, Onion, Olive Oil and Vinegar. "Mike's Style" I said with JalapeƱos and Yellow Peppers. My Daughters Roast Beef and Provolone ($9.45) was ordered with just Lettuce per her request. This was a mistake because the Roast Beef was flavorless. My Daughter took a few bites and then let me have a taste. Very bland. Really needed some seasoning or sauce. Even adding the Vinegar and Oil would have helped. My Daughter bit into my Italian Sandwich and said "now that is good". The Italian was good. I was pretty happy with the flavor of the sandwich but the bread was not the type you get in New York. A little too soft. Couldn't really taste the cheese so next time I may order with additional cheese. I did however like the sandwich and will return this weekend to try another.

BEEF WELLINGTON AND LOBSTER DINNER AT HOME
How lucky am I to have an incredible dinner like this for a special occasion. My lovely Bride pulled off this meal after getting home from work. As she prepared the Beef Wellington I enjoyed Prosciutto Wrapped Pears that were so light and delicious. The main course was spectacular with a perfectly cooked Beef Wellington and Lobster Tail. The cooked Puff Pastry was delicious and the steak was cooked to a perfect medium rare. Who needs to go out to a fine dining restaurant when you can eat like this at home for a fraction of the cost. Me one lucky guy!

Wow....what a great Super Bowl game. Never would have thought that the Patriots could come back and win it. So much excitement combined with some of my favorite football foods. Best part of this Super Bowl is that I got to enjoy it at home with my girls. I don't like watching sporting events at bars or large parties. Just like to sit at home and enjoy the big game with foods and family that I love. I had huge plans to cook a lot more but was so full after just eating a few Wings that I cut the menu short. Enjoyed my Hot Wings with Franks Hot Sauce, Nathan's Hot Dog and Nachos with Shredded Chicken that I made in the morning. The Shredded Chicken is amazing and added depth and flavor to the Nachos. I may have also enjoyed some Chocolate Pudding Pie that my Daughter made too.

Our new Fujitsu television commercial made its World debut today during the Super Bowl. The spot ran six times during the Pre-Game and In-Game on KHON2 Fox Network. This commercial was produced and directed by Greg Davis at KHON2 in Honolulu. The script was written by myself and former University of Hawaii and Philadelphia Jets Player, Rich Miano. Also in the spot are ex Hawaii and NFL players Maa Tanuvasa (2 Super Bowl Championships with Denver Broncos), Leonard Peters and Nate Ilaoa. The Secretary in the spot is the beautiful Monica Hamada and the Star is former Miss Hawaii and Miss USA Runner Up Chelsea Hardin. And of course Keli is in the spot looking good as always. This is a sequel to our first Football commercial that featured Rich Miano and former Hawaii football players. In the first spot, University of Hawaii legend Colt Brennan throws an interception in the big game to a peewee team. I saw a photo of Chelsea Hardin competing in the Miss USA pageant and went to work on a commercial that could feature her beauty.
Thanks to Rich Sheriff, General Manager of the Stan Sheriff Center at the University of Hawaii. We used Rich's office to film the spot. My sincere thanks to all of the great people who helped make this commercial. I truly love them all and am very blessed to have them in my life.
