ALASKAN KING CRAB DINNER

 ALASKAN KING CRAB
DINNER AT HOME

My third night of favorite meals is Alaskan King Crab.  This crab was so sweet and delicious that butter was not required.  Started the meal with some fresh Sashimi which was off the hook fresh.
One of my favorite meals in the world.  #happy.  #blessed!

FATHERS DAY KING CRAB DINNER AT HOME

FATHERS DAY KING CRAB
DINNER AT HOME

Blessed to have an incredible Wife that can cook.  Treated me to a delicious salad with Bacon, Tomatoes, Apples, Carrots,  Bell Peppers, Japanese Cucumber and Avocado.  So bright, light and delicious.  The main course of Alaskan King Crab and Asparagus with Hollandaise Sauce is my favorite and this preparation was pure perfection.  I am one lucky Dad!

ALASKAN KING CRAB SALAD

ALASKAN KING CRAB SALAD
DINNER AT HOME

Alaskan King Crab is one of my favorite foods in the world.  When I saw these huge Crab Legs at Costco there was no way of leaving without some in my cart.  At $19.99 per pound they were not cheap but four legs was more than enough for a family of three.  In fact there was quite a bit left over.  These Crab Legs were so sweet and delicious they did not require any butter or sauce.  The meat was so thick and juicy after just a few minutes of steaming.  Paired the Crab with a simple salad with Avocado and Radish.  Dinner made in less than 20 minutes and so good that I want this again tomorrow night.

ALASKAN KING CRAB

ALASKAN KING CRAB
DINNER AT HOME

One of my favorite dinners at home is Alaskan King Crab and a salad.  Whenever we visit Costco I make it a point to see if they have the large crab legs at a good price. Usually they go for around $12-$14 per pound.  Not a bad deal when Mahi Mahi is going for around the same price these days.  We always select the largest and fattest legs and avoid the claws.  For our family 1-2 legs per person is more than enough to fill us up so I purchased six crab legs for around $30.  Preparing the crab legs is simple.  I use our pasta/steamer pot that has a steamer basket at the top.  First I cut the crab into pieces so it will easily fit into the basket.  Bring water in the pot to a boil and then lay in your crab.  Steam for around ten minutes and you are done.  Normally these crab legs are so sweet that you do not need any butter to dip them in.  Just cut the legs with some kitchen scissors and pull out the crab meat.  We have served the crab legs solo with a salad and also with steak or prime rib for special occasions or  when entertaining guests.

TONY P'S DOCKSIDE GRILL - MARINA DEL REY

TONY P'S DOCKSIDE GRILL
MARINA DEL REY, CALIFORNIA

We had a group of seven people looking for a meal on a Friday night in Los Angeles.  It was around 7:00 pm and the wait at The Cheesecake Factory was 90 minutes.  We called Tony P's Dockside Grill from our cell phone and they said they could accommodate us in around 20 minutes.  Tony P's it is we said.  We arrived to find the place pretty busy with the bar area filled to capacity.  The bar area is pretty cool.  It is set up kind of like a sports book in Las Vegas.  Long tables in front with high tops in the back.  All face the bar and a huge array of flat screen t.v.s playing sports.  The restaurant area is separated nicely from the loud bar and has indoor and outdoor seating.  We were seated quickly outside overlooking the marina.  The patio was enclosed with space heaters heating the area.  Our waiter was top notch and went out of his way to accommodate by Nephew Robbie who had his jaw wired shut.  All his food needed to be blended so he could drink it through a straw.  The waiter said "no probelm" and worked with the kitchen to pull off some great food drinks for Robbie.  We started with a bunch of appetizers.  Tony P's Famous Onion Rings ($7.50).  This is a gigantic pile of paper thin sweet onions that are marinated, seasoned and fried.  Wow....these were good and a bargain.  The Seafood "Guac" Tail ($8.50) was a huge mixture of chopped Florida Rock Shrimp, Blue Crab Meat, Pico De Gallo, Chopped Avocado and Lime.  Served with warm corn tortilla chips.  Wow again.  Another tasty bargain.  The Fried Clams ($7.50) was another bargain but there were far more french fries on the plate and not too many clams.  The Edamame ($5) was drenched in Sesame Oil which kind of ruined the natural flavor of the beans.  The Ahi Sliders ($11) was another Wow dish.  You get 8 crisp wonton skins topped with fresh Ahi Tuna and topped with spicy vegetables and wasabi aioli.  This would be $20 in Hawaii.  I absolutely loved the Ahi Sliders.  DELICIOUS!!!!   The Not Your Usual House Salad was around $5 for a half portion.  The half portion was huge and also super good.  We tried a full pound of Alaskan King Crab Legs ($39.95).  They cut the crab in half so it is easy to eat.  Sweet and delicious.  The Crab is served with a Baked Potato and Vegetables.  Another great deal.  The Wedge Salad was good but not great.  The House Smoked BBQ Chicken ($14.50) was a nice portion of chicken served with smoked beans with onions and jalapenos, cole slaw and fries.  The Grilled Shrimp Platter ($16.95) was a large plate of grilled shrimp topped with a light citrus bur blanc sauce.  There was also a large salad topped with chicken I think.  I really liked Tony P's.  The service was outstanding.  The food was good.  Really liked the appetizers and their affordable prices.

HOT N JUICY CRAWFISH - LAS VEGAS

HOT N JUICY CRAWFISH
LAS VEGAS, NEVADA

A trip to Las Vegas is no longer complete for me unless I eat at Hot N Juicy Crawfish.  If you like hot and spicy seafood, this is one of the best places on the planet to eat at.  Located in a strip mall in the Chinatown area off the Strip, Hot N Juicy serves up the best Crawfish West of New Orleans.  We arrived to find the place full as usual.  The waitresses worked quickly to clear tables and set up so our wait was minimal.  We were seated and given the bib.  Yes, you should wear the bib so the sauce does not get on your shirt.  We ordered two pounds of Crawfish with the "hot" level spice.  The "hot" is the perfect amount of heat without taking away from the flavor of the Crawfish.  The Crawfish comes out in a piping hot bag covered in one of the best spice mixtures I have ever eaten.  Each bag contains a potato and corn on the cob that are soaked in the hot spice.  This is the best corn you have ever tasted.  Sweet and delicious.  The Alaskan King Crab is also awesome here.  Large pieces of crab soaked in the spices.  This stuff is addicting.  You will get the sauce all over your hands and you will smell like the stuff for a day after but it is all worth it.  Simply one of the best places to eat when in Las Vegas.
