No better way to end the work week than sitting at my favorite table alone at The Kahala.  

This is my happy place and where I love to unwind, think, plan and just enjoy the beauty of the beach and ocean.  Pure heaven.  Add a little fresh Sashimi, a chilled glass of Chardonnay and maybe a Salad and you have a pretty incredible moment in time.

When I shop at Foodland Farms in Aina Haina, I always check the Seafood Department for fresh Ahi.  Saw this very nice block for around $20 and grabbed it.  This was "wow" fresh and so silky and melt in your mouth delicious.

After a weekend of eating out it was nice to get back to simple, low carb cooking or should I say cutting.  Sliced up some super fresh Ahi Sashimi and Avocado and done.  Super delicious and satisfying!

The Kahala Resort is my Happy Place and I am blessed that it is so close to my house.  This visit was extra special because my Daughter was visiting from San Francisco.  Nice to spend a few hours with her catching up on life in such a beautiful location.  As usual, I enjoyed Sashimi and a Chardonnay which is the perfect pair on a warm Hawaii afternoon.  I decided to try the Turkey Club Sandwich and holy cow, it was the best in my life.  This sandwich was perfect and delicious.  Served with some of the best French Fries on the Island.  My Daughter ordered an Acai Bowl from the Pool Bar and it was served in a Pineapple.  She loved it and didn't talk while eating it.  Just mowed it with a smile.  Being at the Kahala is always special but to share these moments with my Daughter was extra special.  Truly blessed.

Always a joy to enjoy fresh Ahi Sashimi at my Happy Place.  The Kahala Resort is where I like to chill.  Friday afternoons enjoying Sashimi and a nice Chardonnay is pure heaven.

Always nice to stop at The Kahala on the way home on a Friday.  This is my happy place and sitting and reflecting on the week always relaxes me and clears my mind.  No better place to be and the Ahi Sashimi is so good!

One of my favorite light dinners at home is simply Ahi Sashimi.  Usually serve it with Avocado but the Avocados at the market were not ripe.  When the Ahi is this fresh there is no comparison.  Simply delicious and oh so satisfying.

When you see an untreated fresh piece of Ahi like this, you just gotta grab it despite the high price of over $50 per pound.  This Sashimi was like butter and so delicious.  One of my fave light and satisfying meals.

After being on the mainland, I crave fresh Ahi Sashimi.  So blessed to be able to get this year round in Hawaii.  This is all I need for dinner sometimes.  Makes me happy!

One of my all-time fave dinners is simply Sashimi and Avocado.  Blessed to live in Hawaii where we get a good supply of fresh Ahi Tuna.  Prices are sky high right now with this block costing almost $30.

Enjoyed a quiet Easter Dinner with my Wife and a good friend who is battling cancer.  Enjoyed the appetizers on the lanai and then moved inside for the main course.  Once again my Wife hit it out of the park with her Ribeye.  Seasoned and cooked to perfection.  Don't think you could get a better steak anywhere in Hawaii.  I made Truffle Mashed Potatoes after going to a Truffle centric restaurant the night before.  They tasted great.  Also enjoyed some nice vino that I shipped back from South Africa.  A pretty perfect dinner on a very special day.

Another favorite after returning from a mainland trip is fresh Ahi Sashimi. When you can get Ahi this fresh it is a meal unto itself.  Delicious!

This dinner of Fresh Mahi Mahi and Sashimi was the bomb.  Ten times better than the $80 per person buffet at the Hyatt.  The Mahi was on sale so this meal for three cost less than $40.  The fresh Ahi was expensive at $42 per pound so this little block was $18.  Made a simple sauce using Butter, White Wine, Chicken Stock, Heavy Cream and Capers.  Restaurant quality at home and so delicious!

After a few days of eating out, we decided to go with a very light meal.  Nothing better than fresh Hawaii Ahi Sashimi!
