BUFFALO CHICKEN WINGS WITH ORIGINAL ANCHOR BAR WING SAUCE
DINNER AT HOME
Made these delicious Wings with the Original Anchor Bar Buffalo Wing Sauce. Used the Air Fryer and they came out nice and crispy on the outside. Started by seasoning/coating the Wings with some of my favorite spices and a bit of Baking Powder and Avocado Oil. Air fried at 400 degrees for 10 minutes. Flipped them and cooked for an additional 15 minutes. Served with Blue Cheese Dressing with Carrots and Celery. Like being in Buffalo New York!

Getting my car detailed in Kaneohe and had to kill a few hours so I walked over to Windward Mall. Decided to have some Wings and a cold beverage at Buffalo Wild Wings. Place was pretty dead so I grabbed a table and ordered a cup of Chili and (6) Hot Wings with Celery and Carrots. Wings were HOT. Spicy like I like them. Nice flavor with a crunchy outside and moist chicken inside. The Chili for me was just ok. Plenty of meat but no heat and real Chili flavor. I ordered with Cheese and Onions which helped a bit. Service was good and I got to watch some UFC fights for the first time in ages.

When we visited South Korea, I became a big fan of Korean Fried Chicken (KFC). Probably some of the tastiest chicken in the world. In Korea I enjoyed spicy KFC with a cold beer and loved it. I have not been able to find any really good KFC in Honolulu until now. BBQ Chicken Hawaii does a pretty good job but it did not hit the spot like the stuff in Seoul. The Chicken Wings here come in a box of 9 minimum for about $17. Sounds like a high price but if you know how much food and labor costs in Hawaii, it is not that bad. We tried the Mala Hot Wings and Galbi Wings. I liked the Mala Hot Wings. Pretty sticky and spicy sauce that had the perfect amount of heat for me. The Galbi Wings to me were terrible. I could not even eat one of them. My Wife however liked them. The Wings here were pretty meaty and cooked perfectly with a nice outside crunch and fall off the bone moist chicken inside. I will definitely be back to try a few more flavors.

BUFFALO CHICKEN WINGS
DINNER AT HOME
I was surprised when my Wife said she wanted Chicken Wings for Dinner but I obliged and made them. Marinated in a dry rub of Franks Hot Sauce Seasoning, Flavor God Hot Wings and Ghost Pepper seasonings and then air fried them for 25 minutes at 380 degrees. After the Wings cooked I mixed them with Franks Hot Sauce and Butter mixture. Results are Buffalo Wings better than pretty much every restaurant on Oahu.

DINNER AT HOME
Cooked up a delicious batch of Buffalo Chicken Wings in the Air Fryer. Started by seasoning the Wings with Cajun Seasoning and Cayenne Pepper along with one tablespoon of Olive Oil. Cooked at 380 degrees for 28 minutes. The Wings came out perfectly cooked and crunchy on the outside. I placed the cooked Wings in a bowl with Franks Hot Sauce and melted butter. Mixed it all up.
Delicious Hot Wings at home without a lot of oil or deep frying. Yes!!!!

Surprised to see a Huge line when we pulled up to Pineapples in Hilo. It was 1:30 in the afternoon yet the lunch rush was still going on here. Impressive for sleepy little Hilo. We put our name in and waited. After a few minutes tables opened up quickly and we were seated. Waitresses were smiling and gracious. Menu also impressed me with a great selection of items and fresh fish. I went for Poke with Avocado ($16.50). The Poke and Avocado were super fresh. Loved this but only complaint is the Poke did not have any onion in it. I love a bit of onion in my Poke. My Friend had the Wings ($12) and liked them. My other Friend had some kind of Wrap with Fries and loved it. This is a great little gem in Hilo. Really want to get back and try more dishes!

I love watching major sporting events at home. Don't really like the bar scene or large parties with loud people who indulge in too much alcohol. Kicking back, cooking my own grub and being able to relax at home with family is the way I like to roll during the Super Bowl. This year I kept it real simple with just a few items that I love. Nachos, Hot Wings and a Nathan's Hot Dog. Three of my favorite things to enjoy during sporting events. Don't really care who wins the game. I won with my day at home.

The Oahu Country Club is nestled in the hills off the Pali Highway just minutes from downtown Honolulu. This private, membership only club is a bit dated inside but truly beautiful on the outside. The course wraps itself up the mountains with long narrow fairways that demand you hit the ball straight. There is not much water on the course but the location is often showered with light sporadic rain. The club has a very large and nice formal dining room that is open for dinner. After a round of golf you can eat in the lower dining room that has a small bar and a few television screens that are always tuned to golf or sporting events. Outside the bar is a small table where members congregate to smoke cigars, enjoy a cocktail and talk story. We ended up at this table and the cigars immediately were lit and the beers were flowing. My rich country club friend ordered appetizers for the table. Chicken Wings, Ahi Poke, Nachos and Pizza. The food came rather quickly and the waiter was professional. He called each member at the table by name and always checked back to see if anyone needed a refill. I loved the Ahi Poke. Fresh Ahi cubed and served with onion and seaweed. The shoyu based sauce was a bit sweet. The Chicken Wings come with BBQ Sauce on the side. Really wish they served them with some hot sauce. Also liked the Nachos with the ground beef and cheese. The pizza was thin crust and covered with ripe red tomatoes and fresh basil. Only complaint was how they clumped all the cheese in the middle of the pizza. Since there was no sauce, the pizza was a bit dry on the ends. Love spending time at the Oahu Country Club. The members that I have met up there have been polite and gracious.
