GRILLED CENTER CUT RIB EYE WITH SALAD

GRILLED CENTER CUT RIB EYE WITH SALAD
DINNER AT HOME

This Center Cut Rib Eye we purchased at Costco was amazing.  As good or better than any Steakhouse.  Salt, Pepper and a little Brown Sugar on the steak.  Grilled on both sides and then finished in the oven.  Cooked to a perfect medium rare.  Served with Italian Chopped Salad.

STEAK WITH VEGETABLES AND PINEAPPLE

 STEAK WITH VEGETABLES AND PINEAPPLE
DINNER AT HOME

Trying to add more color to our meals so we eat more vegetables.  I was craving a little steak so I came up with this very quick Stir Fry type meal for the family.  I limited my Steak portion to about 4 ounces so this was a very healthy meal with protein.  Added Salt and Pepper to both sides of the sirloin and then cooked on Indoor Grill Pan until cooked Medium Rare.  You want the Steak to be pink and don't want to over cook it.  Remove the Steak from the pan.  Rest and then cut into cubes.  Add a little Olive Oil to the same pan and then toss in all the vegetables.  I added about a tablespoon of Teriyaki Sauce to the pan and mixed throughly.  Saute until cooked.  I keep the vegetables a little crunchy and do not over cook.  Toss in the cooked Steak and warm through.  Add the Pineapple and Served with Basmati Rice.  Delicious!!!

LOW FAT GRILL PARTY

LOW FAT DINNER PARTY AT HOME

Last night we hosted a small dinner party to show our friends how eating low fat could be fun and delicious at the same time. The entire meal was cooked right at the table on a Japanese style grill pan. We feasted on fresh Mahi Mahi, Wagu Beef from Japan, Chicken and a variety of fresh vegetables including garlic and balsamic marinated Portabello Mushrooms, Asparagus, Maui Onions, Napa Cabbage, Bean Sprouts, Bell Peppers, Zuccini and Eggplant. All cooked with Pam Butter cooking spray that has zero fat. The meal included a Japanese Batayaki dipping sauce that really kicked up the flavor without adding fat. Everyone at the table took turns cooking the various meat, fish, chicken and vegetables. This kept the table "alive" and made for a great evening of fun.
