Eating at Ruth's Chris Steak House five nights in a week was a treat but not something I would like to do again.  Lets just say this was work related so I had to do it.  I still have two more meetings here in the coming weeks so my total will be seven dinners here in a three week period.  Night after night there were a few appetizers that were loved by everyone.  Number One would be the Seared Ahi.  Perfectly seared on the outside and raw in the middle.  Served with crisp and tangy pickled vegetables that I love.  The Crab Cakes were also a big hit as was the Barbecue Shrimp and Mushrooms Stuffed with Crabmeat.  French Fries are not on the menu but when someone requested them we got them.  The Calamari was also loved by all.
Cannot go wrong with any of the appetizers here.  During the week, I enjoyed the Caesar and Wedge Salads but then discovered the Seafood Gumbo and had that two times.  Loved the Gumbo and it was a nice change from salads.  I had the Petite Filet each night cooked medium rare.  The sizzling hot, butter smothered steak is one of the best in Hawaii if not THE BEST. Perfectly seasoned with Salt and Pepper and cooked to perfection with a nice pink middle.
This is probably the only steak (besides the one my Wife cooks) that I could eat night after night.  The 8oz portion is just perfect for me.  To change it up one night I ordered the Chilean Sea Bass and was not disappointed.  The Sea Bass was cooked perfectly and like the steaks - smothered in butter.  Really nice piece of fish for $49.  I like ordering from the Sizzling Prime Time Menu because you get a Salad, Entree, Side and Dessert for a set price.  You can upgrade to any Salad and Side not on the Prime Time Menu for an additional cost.  I found that I did not need the side dish and dessert and most of the sides during the week went uneaten or taken home.  The waiters are experts at upselling here and they do not steer you towards the Prime Time Menu so you have to request it.  Prices here are high but the quality is also high.  Service was very good and I would say the waiters are seasoned pro's.  I am not a big fan of the ambiance at this location.  A bit dark, old and tired.  I prefer the Waikiki location where you can sit outside and people watch while enjoying a great steak and glass of wine.  No complaints about my week at Ruth's Chris.  Lucky to be able to eat such good food with some great people.  UPDATE:  Went back again for what is now sixth time in two and a half weeks.

Saw this recipe on Instagram and just had to make it immediately   I love Fried Pickles and this is a low carb version with no flour, breading or frying.  Simply Cheese and Pickles.  These were a hit because when I left the kitchen and came back they were all gone.

START WITH CHEESE - TOP WITH PICKLES

SPRINKLE WITH FLAVOR GOD RANCH SEASONING

COVER WITH MORE CHEESE

BAKE AT 375 DEGREES FOR AROUND 15 MINUTES

LET COOL AND PLACE ON PAPER TOWELS

ENJOY WITH RANCH DRESSING

Used my great Tuna Salad recipe to make this delicious Chicken Salad using what was left of a Rotisserie Chicken we picked up at Costco.  Served with Cauliflower Tortilla Chips to stay low carb.  This is so good!

I really liked lunch at SXY Szechuan in Ala Moana Center.  The space is bright, open, clean and the young staff was eager to please and provide excellent service.  The food came out of the kitchen lightening fast which is nice during a business lunch.  Portions were large and perfect for sharing which I highly recommend.  We started with Stir Fried Green Beans ($10.99) which were amazing.  Perfectly spiced and cooked.  May be the best Green Beans I have ever tasted.  What a way to start the meal.  Next up was Beef Slices with Szechuan Chile Sauce ($18.99).  We requested medium heat and it was the perfect heat level for me.  Just enough heat to get your attention, make your nose run but not take off your head and ruin the flavor.  I loved the Beef and it went very well with the Green Beans.  The Szechuan Twice Cooked Pork ($16.99) was also delicious and the heat was perfect.  The Spicy Crab ($29.99) was the dish I was looking forward most and the only one that disappointed.  Not because the flavors were not great but because the crab was very hard to get out of the shell and there just wasn't much crab meat.  I did however like the flavor, heat and vegetables.  At the end of our meal Chef Amy Drew came to our table to see if we liked the food.  She told us she also has a restaurant in Las Vegas and that she was already working on new additions to the menu.  Amy was very gracious and I appreciate her taking the time to talk with us.  I really like SXY Szechuan and I cannot wait to go back with the family for some more of the spice!

Celebrating my Daughters birthday week concluded with her favorites.  Started with fresh Sashimi and Avocado which we all love.  Next up was a Beet and Tomato Salad served with Blue Cheese and Balsamic Glaze.  My Daughter loves Foie Gras and can eat it like candy.  I will always remember ordering a piece of Foie Gras at a restaurant for around $40.  She ate it in one bite and did not allow anyone else to have any.  I made Foie Gras for this dinner along with a Raspberry Sauce.  Once again my Wife prepared the most amazing and delicious steaks.  She also made these flavor packed Smashed Potatoes with Garlic, Butter and Parmesan.  This dinner was absolutely amazing.
