Our beloved Meg's Drive Inn on Waiakamilo Road closed and within days, 3 Star Gourmet moved in cooking up some pretty good food.  I tried the Blackened Ahi Salad and it was fresh and so delicious.  Will be trying lots more of the menu in the coming months.
UPDATE:  Back again and tried the Grilled Chicken Salad.  Once again delicious.

SEARED AHI

DINNER AT HOME

Going with a very light dinner after the Thanksgiving Holiday.  Simply Seared Ahi with a dipping sauce made of Shoyu, Dijon Mustard, Wasabi, Honey and a drop of Sesame Oil.  
This is one of my faves!

SEARED AHI AND SASHIMI

APPETIZER AT HOME

Super fresh Ahi was available at the market so I bought a slab and made Seared Ahi and Sashimi.  I love Ahi both ways but my Wife prefers the Sashimi style.  This is probably one of my favorite appetizers ever.

SEARED AHI SASHIMI

APPETIZER AT HOME

I love seared Ahi and enjoy making it at home.  I dust the entire Sashimi Block in Cajun spices and then sear it in Olive Oil for about 30 seconds on each side.  For the sauce I mix Dijon Mustard, Soy Sauce, Wasabi, Honey and a dash of Sesame Oil.  One of my favorite appetizers ever!

No better way to spend a summer weekend then with family and friends.  We hosted a BBQ for visiting friends and business associates from California, Arizona and Washington State.  BBQ included both Hawaii and Mainland favorites such as fresh Poke, Seared Ahi, Opakapaka and BBQ Ribs and Chicken.  Love firing up the BBQ and enjoying a beer under the warm Hawaii sun.
