Back to my favorite restaurant on Oahu.  Really could eat here once a week and love it every single time.  Food and service are exceptional and the wine selection is fantastic.  My go to dishes are the Caviar with Egg, Cheesy Mashed Potatoes with Foie Gras and Truffles.  
This has to be one of my favorite dishes of all time and something I would consider for my last meal.  The Potatoes alone are amazing but when you add the Foie Gras and top with Truffles....damn one of the best tastes ever!  All of the Pastas shine here.  The Bolognese is the best in Hawaii as is the Uni Pasta and the Lemon Tomato Pasta.  All three will make you happy and the Cacio Pepe with Truffles will take you to Italy.  We always eat family style here so everyone can enjoy all of the Pastas and other dishes.  Everything on the menu is good so be adventurous and try a variety of dishes.

There are very few restaurants that we visit over and over again.  Margotto is the one we just cannot get enough of.  Would eat here every week if I could.  Love the food and staff and always leave satisfied and happy.  On this visit my dishes were paired with some absolutely delicious French wines.  Pretty much the perfect Date Night!

SPAGHETTI BOLOGNESE

DINNER AT HOME

Enjoyed a delicious Pasta Bolognese last weekend at Margotto Hawaii.  Thought I would try to make the same dish at home.  Gotta say, mine came out pretty darn good.  Wife loved it!

CAPRESE SALAD AND PASTA BOLOGNESE

DINNER AT HOME

Wanted to get back in the kitchen and cook for my lovely bride so I made a little Italian dinner.  Both of us had no carbs all day so indulging in some pasta was nice.  Caprese was delicious with a thick Modena Balsamic Vinegar and fresh Basil from our garden.

We all enjoyed the food at Taormina in Waikiki.  Service was great and the food came out quickly.  Portions were large enough to share which I highly recommend so everyone can enjoy a variety of flavors.  Loved the meaty Steamed Clams in a buttery broth.  The Eggplant
Caponata was a big surprise as it was absolutely delicious.  Never would have thought cold Eggplant could taste so good.  The Insalata del Bosco was big enough for two or three people and the flavors of the fresh Beets and Pear were fantastic.  I went for the Truffle Carbonara with fresh Truffles shaved at the table.  The dish was good but the pasta was clumpy.  Also think they added cream to the Carbonara which to me is a no no.  The Uni Pasta was rich and delicious.  The Bolognese was really good and definitely better than most Italian restaurants.  The Squid Ink Pasta with Seafood was also really good.  Everything was good here and I would definitely return.

PASTA BOLOGNESE REGULAR AND LOW CARB

DINNER AT HOME

My Daughter wanted Pasta Bolognese and I am eating a low carb diet.  I compromised and made hers with normal pasta and made mine with 1/3 pasta and 2/3 Veggie Nests made from Zucchini and Squash.  I made the Bolognese using Ground Beef and Pork along with Onions, Carrots, Celery and Garlic. Added two jars of Bertolli Tomato and Basil Sauce (our fave).  Sauce came out perfect and was delicious.  The Veggie Nests basically disintegrated and were pretty tasteless.  Would not recommend or buy them again.  Much better to use fresh Zucchini and cut it yourself.
