Living in Hawaii for over 30 years and being a foodie means I have friends in the restaurant and hospitality industries. Seeing what is happening with restaurant closings and a decrease in trips and travel made me really think about these people and their livelihoods. Many restaurants have given back by donating food for my golf tournament that raises money for cancer research. Decided that I needed to do a little to help so today I bought 30 lunches from Young's Fishmarket for my office. Ordered Kalua Pork and Lomi Salmon plates for pick-up at 11:30am. Arrived at 11:15 and everything was ready to go. Great service and I am telling you, Young's Fishmarket has the best Hawaiian food on the Island. Always made fresh with quality ingredients. Entire office loved these lunches. This made me feel good so I will do this once a week for the next month or more to support local restaurants in Hawaii. Challenging everyone that can do the same to buy lunch from a local restaurant for your office or family.

I am a confessed Tacoholic and San Diego is where my favorite tacos are served. I did my Taco Trifecta Tour again in one day while visiting. Here is my Trifecta of Taco Shops which are all located in North County. First up is the Brigantine in Del Mar for Fish Tacos. These are the best Fish Tacos ever. I love the battered Fish Tacos with Avocado but you can order Grilled or even Protein Style with a lettuce wrap in place of the tortilla. The Carne Asada Taco at Brigantine also is my favorite Carne Asada Soft Taco. Lots of quality marinated steak with a fresh tortilla, cheese, avocado and pico de Gallo. Add the Brigantine signature taco sauce and bam...delicous! Next stop is Raul's in Encinitas where I enjoy my favorite Crunchy Beef Taco. Seasoned beef in a crunchy homemade corn tortilla with delicious guacamole, lettuce, cheese and pico. I love Crunch Tacos and this one is my all-time favorite. Next up is Juanitas Taco Shop in Encinitas. This has been my favorite Taco Shop for over 30 years. Always order the Three Rolled Tacos with Guacamole and the Carne Asada Burrito. This Coronavirus thing making us think twice about going out for dinner so we did the Bite Squad delivery service for dinner at Siam Garden Cafe. Food arrived on time and warm. Everything was really good and I would recommend Siam Garden Cafe if you like Thai food. We enjoyed this meal on a Friday during Lent so it was all Seafood and Vegetables. No meat dishes.

My co-workers were going to a local drive inn for lunch so I asked them to pick me up a Mahi Mahi plate. Don't know the name of the place but this was pretty good with exception of the warm Mahi Mahi place on top of the greens ruined the salad.

Strolling down the streets of San Francisco and I saw my first Amazon Go store. There were gals out front hustling people to come in and explaining this new concept in retail shopping. I stopped and the gal showed me how easy it was to shop. I made sure that my Amazon Prime App was loaded on my phone and walked into the store. You can grab items, pour a cup of coffee, place things in your pockets or backpack and simply walk out the door. Want to put something back and you can do that too. I grabbed an item and walked out. The gal in front was smiling and said thank you. She said next time come back and dump a dozen items in a backpack and it will scan everything as you leave. Amazing I thought. This is it folks. The future of shopping is here. This will be the way you visit a 7-11 or other convenience store. Just imagine in about five years you will be driven to the store by an autonomous car with no driver. You will enter the store and shop with no cashier. Want a burger? Your burger and fries will be cooked by a robot and check out will be a kiosk with no cashier. Times are changing fast and what is coming will change how we work, shop and live.
