Absolutely loved Kukui'ula Golf Course and the Club.  So lucky to have a Member get us on and host our group.  This is not an easy course to get a tee time on because it is an exclusive Members Only club that caters to residents of Kukui'ula.  Once here though you are transformed to a Plantation style oasis with ocean views, incredible amenities and a perfectly manicured golf course.  I loved the two Comfort Stations on the course.  Stocked with beverages and a wide variety of snacks.  Everything from Cheese and Crackers to Margaritas and Musubi's.  What a day!

I tell you, Ono Korean BBQ in Kalihi is becoming my favorite Korean BBQ on the Island.  The Spicy Pork and Spicy Chicken Plate rocks.  Cost about $14 but well worth it as this is lunch and dinner for two.  What I like about this Korean BBQ is that the Chicken and Pork have great flavor and spice.  Actually has a bit of heat which I love.  Love the veggies too!

Don't know why but this Mini Hibachi Chicken Plate ($7.95) from Bob's BBQ was super delicious on this day.  Far better than I remember.  A quick lunch at my desk and I was only able to eat about half.  It came with a side of Macaroni Salad too.

Hawaii Kai Golf Course is much improved in so many ways.  Better management, better course maintenance and better food.  Really enjoyed a weekend round here with some friends.  Course was in good shape and the greens were playing fast.  The food upstairs after our round was good too.  Nachos with Chili and the bomb!

Had some leftover Fried Rice from Side Street Inn so we topped it with an egg and had a fast and delicious breakfast.  Side Street Inn Fried Rice is the best on the planet so this was very satisfying!

Entire family absolutely loves our homemade version of Giovanni's Shrimp Truck.  This Garlic Shrimp is the bomb and must be served with the authentic Giovanni's Hot Sauce that you get at the truck on the North Shore of Oahu.  When we order the Shrimp Plate at the truck, I always give the cashier a big tip and ask for extra sauce.  We keep the sauce in the refrigerator and use it when we make Garlic Shrimp at home.  I am telling you, when you have the Hot Sauce this is as good or better than the truck!  Took us years to perfect the recipe.

The beginning of Lent means no meat eating on Fridays until Easter.  Enjoyed a McDonald's Filet-O-Fish for lunch at the office.  I ordered with Lettuce, Tomato and Onion and they did it.  Really made this a better Fish Sandwich.  Did not know that I was getting a double but that is what they brought me.  Filled me out though.

Must say that Alejandro's has the best Carne Asada Burrito on the Island of Oahu and maybe all Hawaii.  The closest thing to a San Diego style burrito that I have found.  This is the "wet" version which has a lot of flavor.  Always get the Red and Green Salsa too.  Adds a little kick and even more flavor to this Burrito.  Delicious!

Trying to use up a Rotisserie Chicken so I made Chicken Salad using my go to recipe for Chicken and Tuna Salad.  Important to not include the skin when using Rotisserie Chicken.  On this evening the Wife and Daughter enjoyed Chicken Salad and I went for a Chicken Salad Sandwich with American Cheese.  So yummy!

I give Flour and Barley thumbs up for food and service.  Lunch here was really good with the entire staff smiling, welcoming and thanking us for visiting.  Everyone seemed to be on the same page for service and this was oh so refreshing.  The space is large, bright and clean with a large bar in the back.  We started with the Antipasti Board ($24) which was one of the best I have had in Hawaii.  Quality cheeses including our favorite with Truffles.  Lots of Prosciutto and other meats plus toasted bread.  We ran out of bread for the cheese and meats and ordered another portion for ($2).  The Pasta Bolognese ($25) was really good and liked by my Wife and Daughter.  The Spaghetti is a larger more thick type.  Now for the Pizza which will make the difference on whether we return here.  Ordered the Salsicce Pizza ($19) with Fennel Sausage, Onions and Peppers.  Everyone liked the Pizza so it looks like we have a new favorite Pizza place now that Mama Manoa's shut down.  Will be back again soon for the pizza for sure.  Our lunch here was satisfying and filling which I cannot say for a lot of Waikiki restaurants.

SPRING MEMBER GUEST GOLF TOURNAMENT

Blessed to play Waialae Country Club's Spring Member Guest Tournament with Mr. Warren Luke.  Warren is one of Hawaii's most respected and successful businessmen.  While we did not win this year we did win this tournament several years back.  Always good to be a returning Champ at Waialae!  The course was in incredible condition just coming off the Sony Open which was played here in January.  Greens were running a 13.5 which is smoking fast.  I was actually making some good putts with the fast greens.  With picture perfect weather and perfect course conditions this made for a very enjoyable day of golf.  The food at the Member/Guest at Waialae was fantastic.  Crab, Steak, Poke, Shrimp, Chicken, Pork, Salads, Rice, Potatoes, lots of wine and the best Ice Cream Bar ever.  Your choice of Ice Cream and condiments like M&M's, Gummy Bears, Oreo Cookies, Strawberries and more.  Could have camped out at the Ice Cream Bar for hours.  Great day and hats off to the staff at Waialae.  First class!

Made another trip to Panya and once again loved it.  The Ahi Poke Bowl was simply delicious,  Fresh Ahi and Avocado on a bed of rice.  Cannot go wrong with this bowl but the price is like $16.
