DINNER AT HOME

So lucky to live in Hawaii and enjoy incredible fresh Ahi most of the year. This small block of Ahi cost $21 at Foodland Farms and it was more than enough for two. When the Ahi is this fresh, it cuts like butter and melts in your mouth. A HUGE difference from most store and restaurant bought Ahi which is injected with carbon manoxide to keep the deep red color. You heard me right "carbon monoxide". We always try to buy fresh non-treated Ahi and can tell the difference from the treated Ahi when it is served in restaurants and in Poke.

Nothing like ending the work week with a little alone time at The Kahala. This is my Happy Place the spot where I like to unwind and think. A crisp, chilled Chardonnay, Sashimi and a Turkey Club Sandwich made this a.pretty perfect Aloha Friday. Truly blessed.

Yea, we don't have In N' Out or some other popular mainland restaurants in Hawaii, but we do have fresh Ahi which makes the best Sashimi in the world. This is one of my favorite dinners when I am trying to keep things light. All you need is a block of Sashimi and a sharp knife.

LOVE Izakaya Matsuri for Sushi and Japanese food. Service is always friendly and the seafood is always super fresh. The Hokkaido Hairy Crab and Uni cannot be beat and the Sushi Rolls are unbelievable. We always order the Hamachi Kama as it is one of the best in Hawaii. One word to describe this place is Quality!

No place I would rather end the week in Honolulu. The Kahala Resort is my Happy Place. Sitting here alone with my thoughts and the view is the best way to decompress. I always enjoy the fresh Sashimi when it is available and this order did not disappoint. So fresh that it melted in my mouth with a delicate flavor that was just amazing!

No better way to end the work week than sitting at my favorite table alone at The Kahala.

This is my happy place and where I love to unwind, think, plan and just enjoy the beauty of the beach and ocean. Pure heaven. Add a little fresh Sashimi, a chilled glass of Chardonnay and maybe a Salad and you have a pretty incredible moment in time.

When I shop at Foodland Farms in Aina Haina, I always check the Seafood Department for fresh Ahi. Saw this very nice block for around $20 and grabbed it. This was "wow" fresh and so silky and melt in your mouth delicious.
