Welcome to the hotel Park Hyatt Seoul where you can check in but never leave. Wow... this stay at the Park Hyatt Seoul was pretty crazy. First off we booked to come in on the wrong day because of the flight change where you actually arrive a day later. We explained to the hotel in advance that we made a mistake and would be arriving one day later. Without hesitation they refused to give us credit for the day we were not there. American Express who we booked the room also called the hotel and once again they refused to issue a refund. After one night in the hotel, my Wife could not sleep because the air conditioning system came on and off with a loud sound. In fact when the a/c came on we had to increase the volume of the television. This kept her up at night. The bathroom was also very small with a single sink with little room for toiletries for two people. Also not one place to hang towels in the bathroom. We decided we could not stay here for another 14 nights so we asked the hotel if we could get out of our reservation and pay for the night we were not here and the following nights. The answer was a stern no and we were told we could leave but would be billed for all of the nights under our reservation even though we had not paid in full. I called American Express and their representative called the hotel to see if they would let us leave. Answer again was no. So I said we are stuck here for another 14 nights even though we want to leave. They said we would have to pay the full amount if we left. American Express went back and forth with the hotel and the answer was still no. Holy crap I thought, you can check in but never leave even if you don't like the place. Someone from the Front Desk who did not identify themselves called the room and talked to my Wife. She expressed her feelings about the rooms a/c system and small bathroom and said she wanted to book another hotel. Answer was still no, but they said they would get back to us. Someone called back and said we could leave the hotel the next day and not have to pay for the next 13 nights. American Express again jumped in to get this in writing from the hotel before we checked out. We were able to leave and move to another hotel in Seoul. Let me tell you that the staff at this hotel is great. Service is really good. We just did not like the size of the room, bathroom and a/c system. Another thing that we did not like is that you need to go up to the 24th Floor in order to go down to the restaurant and bar. Then back up and into another elevator to get to your room.

Service at the Cornerstone Restaurant for breakfast and dinner was excellent. Front Desk staff, bellman and everyone else were FANTASTIC! After our stay here, we opted to change hotels and went to the Signiel Hotel in the Lotte World Tower.
