Tacos El Gordo has a cult like status in Las Vegas. Everyone talks about and recommends these tacos. Last time I visited the line was out the door so I passed on eating here. This time I arrived right when they opened and avoided the lines and chaos. A bit confused on the ordering and paying process but I figured it out pretty quickly after observing. What surprised me is that you need to order specific meat types and different windows. This means you may be standing in multiple lines which can take some time. After you receive your food you pay at the cashier station. I opted to get the Carne Asada and Chorizo Tacos as they were available at the same counter. Other tacos include;
Adobada - Spicy, Marinated Pork (similar to al Pastor)
Lengua - Tender Beef Tongue
Cabeza - Beef head meat
Tripa - Crispy or Soft beef tripe (guts)
Sesos - Beef brains
Buche - Pork stomach
Azteca - Grilled beef with cactus
Tacos were really good and it was a close call on which one I liked best. I love Carne Asada but the Chorizo was just as good.
