Visited the mall with my daughter and she wanted to eat at the Food Court. That meant Señor Pepe for me because I love Tacos. Ordered the Birria Tacos and they were really good. Better than I remember from a previous visit. These were not your normal size Tacos. They were the smaller Street Taco size for $16. Flavor of the meat, cheese, fresh cilantro and onions were on point and the Birria sauce was good too. Definitely would be back for these again.

I loved Kavas in Orlando. From the time I arrived the staff was smiling and attentive. My Waitress was working a lot of tables and large groups but still never forgot about me and there was always someone filling my water glass and checking to make sure I was happy. Manager was super nice and professional. Food here for me was exceptional as we do not have good Mexican food in Hawaii. Started off with the Chips and Salsa. Loved the Salsa but wish it had a little more heat. The Chicken Flauta was probably the best I have ever tasted. Filled with Chicken that actually had seasoning and taste and not just boiled. Birria Tacos were delicious and the Beans and Rice were some of the best I have ever had at a Mexican restaurant. I really liked Kavas and wanted to go back and try more of the food but never had time. Solid food and service!

Drove by the Joya Super Taqueria Food Truck and just had to stop and try some Tacos.

Kind of weird that there were no prices on the menu. We ordered anyway and the Birria Tacos and Taquitos was around $30. Kind of expensive we thought but the Tacos were excellent. One of the best Birria Tacos we have ever eaten. Not as impressed with the Taquitos but they were good too.

Aloha Mamacita started as a Food Truck and then graduated to brick an mortar in Waipahu. They now have a location in the Nimitz Business Center near Best Buy and Home Depot.

The location is very difficult to find and in fact I was going to throw in the towel and leave the Business Center when my Wife looked on the map and found that the restaurant was located in THE BACK of Nimitz Business Center. We went to the back and still could not find it until we saw a mini sign next to a Korean Church. Believe me this is one of the strangest places I have seen in Honolulu. You walk from and industrial complex into a dark quasi Japanese Garden with a Koi Pond and in the corner is a small door that is Aloha Mamacita. We arrived to a small line with one of the workers on the phone giving directions on how to find the place. I too called when we were looking around but the line was always busy. Probably with more people calling for directions. The menu is small and most every item contains Birria which is a marinated beef. The Birria Tacos with Consomme ($15) was my favorite. Three Tacos served with a delicious consommé that that has a nice kick of spice on the back end. I liked the balance of cheese and meat. The Tacos had a nice crunch and were not soggy. The Onions and Cilantro added more flavor. These were probably the best Birria Tacos I have tried in Hawaii. The Street Tacos ($3 each) were tiny and contained the Birria meat less the cheese. Also served with Consomme. Go for the Birria Tacos and skip the Street Tacos. The Birria Bomb Bites ($9) are balls of the Birria Meat and Cheese with more Consomme. These are really heavy and filling. After eating the Birria Taco I could only eat one of the Bites. Probably would not order these again and stick with the Birria Tacos. Once you can find Aloha Mamacita you will enjoy some really good Birria Tacos.
