PAPPARDELLE WITH MUSHROOMS, BROWN BUTTER, SAGE AND PARMESAN

DINNER AT HOME

Made one of the families favorite dinners at the request of my Daughter.  Being that it is her Happy Birthday Week I made sure this came out perfect.  Oh my it did.  So good I abandoned my low carb diet to enjoy some Pasta.  I did not eat much.  Just enough to fill me up and take in all the great flavors.

PRETTY SIMPLE INGREDIENTS FOR THIS GREAT MEAL

RECIPE DOES NOT CALL FOR WINE BUT I HAD A GLASS WHILE COOKING

BROWN LOTS OF BUTTER AND ADD LOTS OF SAGE

TOSS IN ALL THE MUSHROOMS AFTER THE SAGE GETS CRISPY

ADD PARMESAN CHEESE

PAPPARDELLE WITH CRAB, MUSHROOMS AND SAGE
VALENTINES DAY DINNER AT HOME

I am so blessed to have the same Valentine for the past twenty years.  My Wife is amazing and she deserves the best and whatever she wants on Valentines Day.  As usual we chose to stay home on Valentines Day to avoid the crowds, lousy service and high prices.  Asked my Wife and Daughter what they wanted to eat and both picked Pappardelle with Mushrooms which is a family favorite recipe.  I kicked up the dish by adding a little Alaskan King Crab which is "my" favorite.  My Wife created a super delicious and great looking dessert using Rocky Road Ice Cream, Big Island Candies Brownie and Chocolate Covered Strawberries she got from her office.  Wow...what a great meal with the loves of my life.

PAPARDELLE WITH HAMAKUA MUSHROOMS, SAGE AND BUTTER

PAPPARDELLE WITH HAMAKUA MUSHROOMS, SAGE AND BUTTER
DINNER AT HOME

Wanted to post this recipe again after making it for the Holidays.  This is hands down one of the families favorite meals.  Perfect for a hot summer day or cool winter evening and so easy to make.  
The flavor of the fresh mushrooms and sage shine here and I guarantee you will love it too.

PAPARDELLE WITH HAMAKUA MUSHROOMS

HAMAKUA MUSHROOMS, PARMESAN CHEESE, BUTTER, FRESH SAGE, LEMON AND PAPPARDELLE
HAMAKUA MUSHROOMS ARE SO PERFECT FOR THIS RECIPE
CLEAN AND TRIM MUSHROOMS
SLICE MUSHROOMS INTO ABOUT 1/4" THICK PIECES
HEAT BUTTER UNTIL SLIGHTLY BROWN
ADD FRESH SAGE AND JUICE FROM 1/2 OF LEMON
LET THE SAGE INFUSE THE BUTTER WITH FLAVOR
ADD THE HAMAKUA MUSHROOMS
COOK MUSHROOMS UNTIL TENDER
REMOVE MOST OF THE SAGE 
STIR IN COOKED PAPPARDELLE PASTA
FINISH WITH GRATED PARMESAN CHEESE
