Nice to be back in Manoa and enjoying U.H. Basketball.  Great night with Henry Kapono singing the National Anthem and a halftime tribute to the great AC Carter who led Hawaii to several 20 game win seasons back in the day.  He then went on to play in the NBA for a decade.

Great time meeting University of Hawaii Basketball Players and Coach Eran Ganot at Giovanni Pastrami.  Owner Ryan Tanaka established Braddahhood Grindz to help feed athletes and it has grown into something very special.  Proud to be a Sponsor and part of these incredible events that bring the athletes together with the business community.  Nice to see Governor Josh Green attending these events and supporting U.H. Readers of this blog know that I love my Rainbow Warrior sports teams and the Stan Sheriff Center.  Opened in 1994 and seating 10,300, the Stan Sheriff Center is the home to Hawaii's Volleyball and Basketball teams.  During basketball season you can be invited by corporate sponsors or purchase tickets to the Ed Wong Hospitality Suite which is located on the court level.  Admission includes a light pupu buffet that is available 45 minutes prior to the game and during halftime.  If you like, you can hang out in the Suite during the game and watch it on television.  There are several large screens that play the live basketball game or you can catch a football game too.  I love hanging out in the Ed Wong Suite.  Great place to have a cold beer before the game and during halftime.  Beers are $4.50.

On this evening my Bows beat Cal State University Bakersfield so it was a good night.

Thanks to John Fink of KFVE television station where we are a happy client, we were able to sit court side for a University of Hawaii Basketball Game.  We dominated Central Arkansas and got our fourth straight victory.  The victory for me was being able to meet head coach Gib Arnold (formerly assistant coach at USC) and have the best seats in the house.  Sitting on the court is awesome.  You can see and hear everything.  We were behind the Arkansas bench and could listen to the coach and players reactions to what was happening on the floor.  Truly an awesome experience.  Our sincere thanks to KFVE.

We enjoyed two basketball games this weekend. Our new coach Gib Arnold has put together a pretty good team that is night and day above teams in past years. This team runs an offense rather than playing jungle ball. They dive after loose balls and play as a team. This is something that didn't happen the past three years. The result, we won the first two games vs Montana and Cal. State Fullerton. The Stan Sheriff Center has numerous food options but most are not too healthy. One good choice is usually the California Pizza Kitchen counter. We picked up Linguine with Clam Sauce on night and Pasta with Sausage and Peppers the next. Keli loves the pasta. We also tried the Clam Chowder from the Campbell Soup vendor. I enjoyed a cold cup of brew and was perfectly content. Our new seats are great.
