This is up there with the WORST experiences and food ever on this blog. Food and service sucked. Service was a zero with no hello, goodbye, engagement or attention. No menus are offered and they do not even tell you to use the app. App was pretty easy to use and had photos and prices for each item. Started with the Spare Ribs which were delivered in a bowl of pretty tasteless oil. Eatable but not good. The Hot and Sour Won Tons were neither hot or sour. Very bland bowl of again...OIL. The House Beef Noodles again a bowl of oil and very bland and tasteless. Would never step foot in this place again and cannot fathom how their Los Angeles location has garnered so much attention and rave reviews.

Really enjoyed our Date Night at Silver Lining Wine Bar. Was a bit hard to find and we had to walk up and down Waimanu Street a bit before we saw the address. Then we had to find the restaurant which has no sign at all. We made it to a door and saw in very small print Silver Lining. Entered to come face to face with a staircase. Go to left, turn right and there are two doors and no sign. Go through the steel door on the right and you enter into a quaint little bar that immediately feels comfortable. The bartender was super nice and asked if we had ever been here before. We said "no" and she described the concept of organic wines without all the chemicals and additives plus some nice food options. This was a Friday during Lent so we could not eat any of the meat entrees. No problem we were told and she gave us non meat options. We pretty much ordered all of them plus on extra dish from the Brix and Stones bar upstairs. I had about five glasses of wine. They are small and start at about 3 ounces and I think go up to six. Started with white wines and then graduated to red with an Italian one being my fave. Food was really good. I am not a big lover of Arugula but the Arugula Salad was great. Loved the dressing and shaved parmesan. The Potato Pave was tasty with layers of potato that I thought was really nice. The Crispy Brussels Sprouts were indeed crispy, nicely burnt (which I love) and delicious. I liked the Baked Brie but was not a fan of the red glaze on top. The Baked Feta with Mushrooms was good too. The owner of the place and bartender were so nice that I just gotta go back here again.

Love my wife for taking the time to make our homemade Shredded Beef recipe that we used back in the day at our Mexican restaurant. The process takes 24 hours of slow cooking in chiles, seasonings and cooking liquid. What a great Taco Tuesday at Casa de Santos!

Enjoyed a GREAT business lunch at Duke's on Kauai. Started with a bunch of pupus and believe me, they were all good. The Ahi Sashimi was SUPER fresh and just perfect. Melted like butter in my mouth. The Kalapaki Hot Wings had good flavor and just a small pop of heat. The Panko Crusted Calamari was delicious and I could have eaten the entire plate. Large thick pieces of Calamari served with Tarter and Cocktail Sauces. I preferred the Cocktail Sauce. The Crab and Macadamia Nut Won Tons were a table favorite. I also enjoyed a Poke Bowl which was delicious. The Ahi was super fresh like the Sashimi and I liked the Kimche and Pickles. Now the kicker was the Hula Pie. Our table enjoyed two huge slices and there was nothing left. Really wanted to lick the plate. Awesome. Great service too!

I don't often eat breakfast and never go to Coffee Shops but a customer wanted to meet at Blue Bird on Kauai. Boy...kinda glad he did because I enjoyed one of the best Avocado Toasts ever in Hawaii. This was really good stuff with the egg cooked perfectly and a nice touch of Balsamic Vinegar that made the breakfast pop. My co-worker had the Breakfast Burrito and loved it. Super large and he could only finish half.
