DINNER AT HOME

Had a pretty stressful few days and my Wife told me to just relax and she would make dinner.  She delivered a perfectly cooked Filet with Grilled Onions and Zucchini.  This was perfect and enjoyed on our lanai with a nice Cabernet.  These 8oz steaks from Whole Foods are the perfect size for me.  Love them!

We were not impressed with the flavor of the Real Good Foods Bacon Wrapped Stuffed Chicken the first time we tried it.  In fact this one had been in the refrigerator since October 

 of 2021 when we first tried them.  Decided to use them up so I tried cooking them again.  The first time I cooked these in the Air Fryer and they came out really dry.  This time I baked them in the oven per the instructions.  Learning from the first time we ate these, I cut them open after taking them out of the oven and added a bunch of Italian Cheese Blend and then melted it in the microwave.  Set on top of Basil Tomato Sauce.  Better tasting and not as dry this time.

Adding the extra cheese and sauce really helps.

Spent the morning working at our new warehouse in Kona with my gals.  They worked hard in the hot, sauna like rooms we are renovating.  There is no air conditioning yet so it was miserable.  Decided to take them for a nice lunch in Waimea and afterwards we hit the Four Seasons Resort in Hualalai for Pupu's and drinks.  We sat at a table fronting the beach.  Picture perfect, cool breeze and so relaxing.  The Bartender attended to our table and he was exceptional.  Great service!  I sipped a chilled glass of Chardonnay and enjoyed some fresh Sashimi.  My Wife loves Truffle Fries so she ordered them.  Problem was the Fries had absolutely no taste of Truffle.  None at all.  Pretty disappointing when you order Truffle Fries.  The Chips and Salsa with Guacamole was good.  We could have sat here for hours.  One of the most relaxing places and beautiful views too!

We had just finished a not so great lunch at Merriman's in Waimea and I was still hungry.  My gals ducked into a clothing store so I walked around and saw this cute little Taco shop in the back of the small shopping center.  Taco Rosa called my name so I went in and checked out the menu.  Kind of weird I thought after looking at the Taco selections.  Dove in and ordered the Pollo a la Plancha (Chicken) Taco and the Bulgogi Pork Taco.  What I did like was the fresh toppings and Corn Tortilla.  Meats however did not hit the spot for me.

We liked everything about Merriman's in Waimea except for the food.  I went for the Fresh Fish Sandwich with Ono.  Fish was fresh but the sandwich and sauce were pretty bland.  My Daughter said the Kalua Pig and Sweet Onion Quesadilla was dry.  She said the sauce and Kimchi were terrible.  I took a bite and agreed.  My Wife ordered the Greek Salad with Shrimp and did not eat the Shrimp because they were covered in Curry.  She said the dressing was bland and the dish tasted nothing like a Greek Salad.
