Primanti Brothers in Pittsburgh has been on my food travels Bucket List for decades. I have seen this place so many times on the Food Channels and it has always stayed on my mind. Finally had a business trip to Pittsburgh and was able to visit and try this world famous sandwich. We entered in the late afternoon after lunch rush and before dinner rush. Perfect time to get a nice table with no wait and friendly and non rushed service. I asked our waiter what was the most popular item and he quickly replied "beer". We laughed and I ordered a glass of wine. Everyone else in the place was downing large amounts of beer which is the perfect drink to go along with these huge sandwiches known for having French Fries included in them. I went for the Pastrami with Cheese and Fried Pickles. Fried Pickles were excellent and some of the best I have ever eaten. As we waited for our sandwich I couldn't help but notice bag after bag of French Fries being taken into the kitchen. It seemed to be non stop. When the sandwich arrived I was in Foodie Heaven. My dream of a Primanti Brothers sandwich was coming true and it looked amazing. I grabbed half the sandwich with two hands and cradled it to my mouth which was open wide to get everything in. I pressed down on the bread and took a huge first bite. Sat back and just took it all in while chewing and tasting all the flavors going on here. The Cole Slaw was heavy on the vinegar, then the Fries and lastly the meat and cheese. Would highly recommend getting the double meat for just $2 more. I liked the fact that the bread was light and not chewy. It is really perfect for the sandwich. All in all I really liked the sandwich and would not hesitate to return for another.
