Hali'Maile General Store is a "must" visit when on Maui. I love this restaurant. Love the location hidden in the upcountry hills which seem so far from everything. The charm of the old store with the lanai and wood floors take you back to another day in Hawaii history. Just a great relaxed feeling here that I love. Also love the food. On this visit we enjoyed Bev's Famous Crab Pizza which is out of this world delicious. Basically Crab Dip on a Pizza. Simple but so delicious. Hard to stop eating this Pizza. Next up was the Sashimi Napoleon which once cut into pieces is so delicious. The Wasabi Vinaigrette goes perfectly with the Ahi, Salmon and Won Ton Chips. Again hard to stop eating. Once again I went with the Lamb French Dip Sandwich which is amazing. Love the flavor of the Lamb and when dipped in the au jus the flavor goes to another level of yumminess. Oh...and the French Fries are really good here too. We had four of the desserts which I have not photos of. Bummer because they all were delicious. The Chocolate Decadence Cake and Love in a Jar were my favorites because they were hard core chocolate.

Had not been to Hali'imaile General Store in many years so it was great to get back to Maui and visit this now famous institution in Makawao. This is a great dining experience inside that feels like an old plantation home with no air conditioning, hard wood floors and bright sunlight. Staff is polite and pleasant and the food is GREAT. We arrived for lunch with a reservation and the restaurant was packed from front to back. Our table started with Bev's Famous Crab Pizza ($12). This Crab Pizza rocks and I could not stop eating it. Could have devoured two of these pies myself. Kept taking a bite and saying to myself "wow this is good". Next up was the Sashimi Napoleon ($24) which as the bomb. Nice pieces of super fresh Ahi and Smoked Salmon with Wontons and Tabiko. Mix it all up and you have a rainbow of flavors. I could have eaten two of these dishes too. Loved it! I ordered the Fresh Catch which on this day was Mahi Mahi. The fish was cooked perfectly and served with Jasmine Rice and Green Beans. Delicious. The French Dip Lamb Sandwich was a huge hit with two people at our table. I tried the Lamb and it was moist and flavorful. Would definitely order this on another visit. Love everything about Hali'imaile General Store. Food, ambiance and service all good.
