I had to visit New Jersey for a business trip so I decided to create my own Food Tour while on the way. Rutt's Hut was the first of four stops and I loved it. We arrived around 9:30AM to find the place open but completely empty. The woman at the counter was pure New Jersey and she was a joy to talk with about the menu and some of the other spots on my tour. Started with ordering two Rippers which come out plain. The gal showed me two metal containers that contain the Relish and Mustard. Help yourself with the wooden spoons she said. Aske for Onons and she placed them on a plate on the side. The Relish was "money". Absolutely delicious. Made the Ripper one of the best hot dogs of my life. I am a Ripper fan now. The Chili Cheese Dog with Onions was off the charts good but the Cheese overpowers the great Chili. Pro Tip: Don't put Cheese on the Chili Dog. Enjoy the Chili with its great flavor and kick of heat. Onion Rings are lightly breaded which I liked. Very tasty!
