Cannot visit San Diego without enjoying some great Mexican food. My favorite little spot is Juanita's Taco Shop in Encinitas for Taquitos and Carne Asada and Raul's for Crunchy Beef Tacos. Tried all of these items at El Indio Mexican Restaurant which is just minutes from the San Diego airport. El Indio has been serving San Diego for over 40 years and there Mexican food has a cult like following. Ordering is simple here. Just step up to the counter and place your order. The gal working the counter on this day was smiling and friendly. She even gave us a free sample of their Albondigas soup along with a fresh, warm flour tortilla. The Beef Taquitos and Crunch Beef Taco were both good here but my Encinitas go to places are better. The Carne Asada Taco was also good but I'll take Juanitas over El Indio any day of the week.
