I love Giovanni's Garlic Shrimp with their amazing hot sauce but it is a long drive to go to their truck on the North Shore.  Thank goodness my wife has perfected the recipe for their Garlic Shrimp.  To make it authentic at home we always stock up on their hot sauce when we visit the truck.  I mean like I tip them $20 for a bag of the stuff.  It is so spicy and so good!

With loud construction going on at our house, I decided to take a detour on the way home and have a late lunch at Et. Al. in Kahala.  Service was great but the Fresh Fish of the Day was overcooked and very dry.  I was starving and ate it all but boy the Chef kind of ruined this nice piece of fresh fish.

Spending a lot of time on Kauai these days and Mariachi's is my "go to" spot for takeout Mexican food.  Enjoyed a Chicken Enchilada and Tostada Combination Plate plus some Crunchy Shredded Beef Tacos.  Liked the Tacos and Enchilada but the Tostada was a mess.  The tortilla was floppy and soft.  Broke apart and had zero crunch.  Would never order this again for takeout.

This dish literally blew my mind.  So good that I wanted to order more right after finishing the plate.  The flavor of the raw Scallops shined through and melted in my mouth like butter.

Another perfect dinner at Arancino at The Kahala.  Love this place!

I always begin my meal here with the Caviar with Ebi.  A bit expensive at $58 for an appetizer, but after one bite you forget about the price and just enjoy.  The chilled raw sweet Shrimp with the Caviar is perfection.  Another perfect dish is the Hokkaido Scallop Sashimi.  Wow....this one blew my mind.  The Scallop melted in my mouth like butter with a flavor explosion that I will never forget.  Immediately after we finished the plate of Scallops, I seriously was thinking about ordering another one.  I would return just for this dish and a nice glass of wine.  The Lobster Bisque is the best in Hawaii and the Pizza is great but a bit floppy.  Wish they could crisp up the center of the crust more.  I love the Carbonara and it is my 

"go to" entree.

Every few months I crave an Italian Sandwich and my two "go to" spots in Honolulu are Jersey Mike's and Capriotti's.  This time it was Caps and the sandwich was delicious.  I had them dig out the bread to make it a bit more low carb.

I love the Hau Tree despite the food just being ok and a rather rude bartender on this evening.

We had a fantastic waitress which made up for the bartender.  She was great!  Food could be better here, but they do a good job.  I love the Chips and Rainbow Caviar and would come back time and time again to enjoy this with a glass of wine.  The Ahi Tartar was a bit bland for me and lacked that fresh Ahi flavor I was hoping for.  The Tempura Hamachi Kama was good but I wouldn't call it a Tempura batter.  Seemed just deep fried.  This was good but could use a nice sauce.  I went for the Fennel Sausage Pasta which was really good.  My daughter was not impressed with the Prawn Strozzapreti and really didn't eat much of it.  The Salmon was a bit basic and really needed a sauce or something to bring out more flavor in the dish.  The sunset however made up for everything as it was spectacular.
