Seems like when it drops below 75 degrees we seem to find our way to Hokkaido Ramen in Kaimuki.
After this visit, I must say that Hokkaido is a great little neighborhood gem and a great value. You cannot beat the Combo Sets starting at $7.25. I ordered Combo Set "A" for $8.50. This includes a small bowl of Shoyu Ramen, Fried Rice and Gyoza. First of all I was amazed that you get this much food for under nine bucks. The Ramen was outstanding and more flavorful than a much more expensive bowl that I ate at another Ramen place a few weeks back. The Gyoza were cooked perfectly and full of flavor. The Gyoza Sauce served here is awesome. Vinegar based and perfect with the Gyoza. The Fried Rice was good too. Filled with pieces of egg, vegetables, pork and char siu. The Combo "C" Set for $13.50 included the Ramen, Gyoza and a large piece of Unagi (Eel). The Eel is served on a bed of rice was a slightly sweat sauce. My wife loved it. Food here comes out very fast and the waitress while very quiet gets the job done with a smile. I like the food here and the prices.
