For the life of me I do not understand the raves and hype about The Pig and the Lady.  After several visits, I cannot seem to find any dish that resonates with me or my family.  On this visit we sampled a wide variety of dishes and we really did not like any of them.  Amazing that with seven people at the table almost all dishes were not finished.  I took the pasta home but never finished it.  Hey a lot of people love this restaurant so please try it for yourself.  I just call em as I eat em and this one does not do it for me.

I enjoyed eating at The Pig and the Lady when they had a food wagon at the Sony Open Golf Tournament.  Glad to see that they now have a permanent location in downtown Honolulu.  Parking can be a bit tough downtown.  It cost us $15 to park a block away in a lot across from Murphy's Bar.  That was as much as my lunch.  We started with the Brisket Croquettes ($9).  Fried balls that supposedly included Brisket.  I could not taste any Brisket and thought that these Croquettes were pretty tasteless.  Our table of four did not finish them.  Next up were the Laotain Fried Chicken ($12).  Four Fried Chicken Legs that were really flavorful.  I added some Sriracha Sauce to add some heat and kick up the flavor.  Not bad.  I would order these again as a shared appetizer.  One of my friends enjoyed the Pho French Dip ($13).  Said it was "good".  I went for the Le Saigon Banh Mi ($12).  This was a large and filling sandwich filled with Pork Belly, Ham and Chicken Pate.  Served with an egg with the yolk oozing over the meats.  Really liked this sandwich but the bread was really hard.  A Softer bun would have been nice as it took some work to crack down on the bread.  The ingredients in this sandwich are quality and pretty darn delicious.  I like The Pig and the Lady and really want to return to try more menu items.
