While a trip to In-n-Out Burger satisfies our burger cravings, a trip to Tito's Tacos is just as important to satisfy our taco cravings.  I have named Tito's as the In-n-Out of taco stands.  Simple menu, quality ingredients and low prices.  If you are ever flying in or out of Los Angeles International Airport I highly recommend that you set your GPS for Tito's Tacos in Culver City.  Just minutes away from the airport.  We literally tried everything on the menu during our last visit.  My Dads wife Heide ordered one of everything so we could try all of the different items and tastes.  Search this blog for all the photos.  This visit we went for just tacos and one Tostada for the heck of it.   At Tito's you can order at the outside window or a small inside window.  Whatever window you go to there will be a line.  Tito's is always busy.  Service is fast though so you are not waiting a long time.  You order at the window and the girl flies around the kitchen preparing your items.  The tacos are placed in a box and then covered with a top.  When you open your box you immediately notice the cheese.  Mounds of cheddar topping each taco.  The tacos are simple; shredded beef, lettuce and cheese.  They give you a ton of salsa for the tacos and chips.  The salsa is made fresh daily and taste like it just came from a fresh tomato.  I pour the salsa down the inside of the taco all the way across the tortilla.  I want that salsa to absorb into the meat so you taste the meat, salsa, lettuce and cheese in every single bite.  The tacos are crisp.  Great texture with the shredded beef, lettuce and cheese.  This is taco heaven.  Nothing fancy.  No sour creme, guacamole, onion, cilantro or any other ingredient that will take away from the flavor of the beef and cheese.  Don't get me wrong.  I love other ingredients on tacos too.  The Tito's Taco is just classic in its basic form.  You really don't need anything else.  If I had a Tito's Taco in my neighborhood, I would never visit a Taco Bell again.  This is a TASTE OF HAWAII FAVORITE.

A trip to California would not be complete without a few visits to In-n-Out Burger.  My wife will not eat burgers at home, but when there is an In-n-Out Burger she will want to enjoy one every single day.  I have blogged about In-n-Out numerous times.  Some of my In-n-Out writings receive the most hits on this blog.  People just love the place.  We do too.  Absolutely the BEST $2.20 BURGER ON THE PLANET.  What I like about In-n-Out Burgers is that you can taste every single ingredient.  The onion, the lettuce and tomato, the beef and the bun  Then there is the soft accent of flavor added by the Thousand Island Type dressing.  Just enough to add taste and not overpower the burger.  These burgers are "fresh" just like their motto says.  When you bite into an In-n-Out Burger you cannot help but ask yourself why you would pay $5, $6, $8, $10 or more for a burger.  This $2.20 burger has it all.  The French Fries at In-n-Out are also top notch.  We order them Well Done for a little extra crunch.  There is an entire menu of underground terms that you can learn if you would like to have different In-n-Out experiences.  Terms like "Animal", "Mustard Grilled", "Grilled Cheese", "Flying Dutchman Animal" and many other terms allow you to order different combinations that are not on the printed menu.  I recommend you go to this website to learn the entire In-n-Out Secret Menu.

Arrived in Los Angeles at 7:00 am.  By 9:15 am I was on my first tee and ready to participate in a University of Hawaii Athletics Golf Tournament.  This was a mellow event as far as golf tournaments go.  No beer carts or tents set up at each hole.  They did have two guys driving around with water and Gatorade.  The course was pretty narrow and not too long.  Fairly easy with a few views along the way.  I had to leave right after the golf so I missed the buffet.  The Club House here was beautiful.  Huge buildings with high ceilings and great design.  The Locker Room was beautiful and featured individual showers with dual doors for privacy.  Really nice club.

We were treated to some great seats at Anaheim Stadium for the Angels vs Boston game in late October.  The skies were clear, the air was warm and the beer was cold.  Our Club Level Seats included In Seat Dining where you order from a waiter and the food is delivered right to your seats.  No need to get up and stand in line.  The waiter takes your order using a hand held device.  The order is sent directly to the kitchen and prepared.  You pay with a credit card right there on the hand held device.  One swipe and the beer keeps coming.  I enjoyed the Foot Long Hot Dog ($7.75).  Big in size but not on flavor.  Pretty basic Dog.  My friends enjoyed the Double Angus Cheese Burger ($7.25).  Hard to believe that an Angus Double Burger is less than a hot dog.  Burgers looked a bit dry but everyone seemed to like them.  After a few innings in the Club Seats we ventured down the hall to the Club Level Bar.  This lively little oasis in left field was filled with fans who could care less about the game.  Just hanging out at a nice bar overlooking the field.  I really like this set up.  You can sit inside in air conditioned comfort or go outside and sit at tables that are terraced down about three rows.  There is table service and a great expanded menu of food.

Had some time prior to a flight at the Honolulu Airport.  Stopped into the Kona Brewing Company for a quick meal and drinks.  Service here was fast and efficient.  The Caesar Salad with Chicken was fair. Dressing tasted home made.  Just a little too much on the lettuce.  I liked the Chicken Wings but they did not serve them with any celery.  The Wings have just enough heat to get your attention.  This is a good place to enjoy a cold beer or cocktail before your flight.
