Nothing to rave about but a decent place to stay near the Santa Monica Pier. Hotel is clean and service was good. A bit pricey plus they ding you like $40 per day for parking. While this property is similar to an Embassy Suites, they do not have complimentary breakfast or an evening happy hour.

You can buy coffee in the lobby and there is a restaurant where you can have breakfast, lunch and dinner. Rooms were comfortable but a bit dated. Liked the large television in the bedroom. There are little shuttle cars that park at the hotel. They will take you within a few miles of the hotel for free. Just need to tip them. This was nice and we used it several times to go to dinner. The hotel is close to the Santa Monica Pier and beach plus it is close to the freeway. Worked out well for our stay.

I love Blue Plate Oysterette in Santa Monica. The location directly across from the ocean and pier is awesome. The service and food here has been great both times we have visited. I started with a bowl of thick Clam Chowder. Loved the flavor of the Chowder and so much better than a bowl I had at Point Loma Seafood a few days prior. My girls devoured the Grilled Artichoke. They loved it.

The Oysters were fresh and delicious, Lobster and Crab were sweet and Shrimp tasted great with the Cocktail Sauce. My Wife ordered the Shrimp Pesto with no pasta. Couldn't figure that one out. I tried one of the Shrimp with Pesto and loved it. Nothing bad here. Enjoyed the meal and Key Lime Pie with Grahm Cracker Crust for dessert.

WOW....what a cool place. Love the look, feel and food at Watson's in Orange, CA. This place takes you back in time to the old Soda Fountains that once lived in small towns all across America. As I looked and walked around the restaurant, I kept saying to myself "how cool". With limited time, we ordered up some desserts before an appointment at the nearby Chapman College. I ordered the Cake Shake which is a Milk Shake with piece of Chocolate Cake on top. Mind-blowing good. So decadent and delicious. My Daughter had a plain Root Beer Float which seemed a bit underwhelming after the Brownie arrived. Two huge Chocolate Brownies with three scoops of Ice Cream, Whipped Cream, Nuts and Chocolate Sauce. This was an overdose of sweet but ohh so delicious. This is a rare treat as we don't get this type of dessert in Hawaii. I don't think any of us finished our desserts. Loved this place!

A good friend who lives near Lourdes in San Diego highly recommended we have breakfast there before leaving North County. He said the Machaca Plate was the absolute best for breakfast. We arrived when the opened at 9:00 am and there were already a few people ordering. The Machaca Plate with Avocado did not disappoint. Delicious Shredded Beef with Eggs, Onion and Peppers. Served with Rice, Beans and Tortillas. Made up some delicious little burritos and was very happy with this meal. My Daughter absolutely loved and devoured the Carne Asada Plate. She darn near finished everything on the plate. My Wife liked the Carne Asada Burrito but once again said that Juanitas was better. We all enjoyed Lourdes and will return again.
