| OUR SECOND VISIT TO ANA INTERCONTINENTAL TOKYO |
Sitting on over 1 million Hawaiian Airlines miles so I decided to cash a boat load in for three First Class Round Trip tickets to Tokyo. Love the space and lay down flat seats. While service is good it is the bare minimum and does not come close to service on Japanese or other International airlines. We flew Korean Air for a long flight on this same trip and there was no comparison in service. Korean Airlines gives attention to the customers from the time they enter the aircraft and they don't look at cell phones and sit in the galley and talk. Korean Air Flight Attendants continually check on the customers and refill drinks throughout the flight. When they saw our water or wine glasses half empty, they immediately came over to refill them. With Hawaiian you always need to ask for refills as the Flight Attendants are too busy talking amongst themselves. Don't get me wrong, I am very loyal to Hawaiian Airlines but when it comes to service, they are very relaxed, comfortable and set in providing the minimum to get by. Occasionally there are exceptions but not often. On this flight the food was horrible and in fact uneatable. The cold Rolled Chicken was tasteless and even the Chocolate Cake was bad. Hard as a rock. Breakfast was a joke too. A fried ground Chicken Patty with Katsu Sauce. Other than the food and minimal service levels we enjoyed the comfortable flight to Japan.
