It is very rare that I have a perfect meal and want to return to the same restaurant the very next day. Well, I did have the perfect meal at Del Frisco's Philadelphia and did want to go back the next day. From the time we walked into the space I was blown away. The architecture and tall ceilings was amazing. And to think just an hour earlier I had booked a reservation around the corner at McCormick and Schmick's. We were actually walking to Schmick's which is directly across the street from the Ritz Carlton when my wife wanted to walk around the block and check out some of the shopping. As we walked I saw Del Frisco's and said "WTF", let's eat at Del Frisco's instead. I jumped on the Opentable app and cancelled my Schmick's reservation and walked into Del Frisco's and asked for a table for two. The hostess welcomed us and said she would be happy to seat us. We walked into the space and I kept looking up at the wine cellar ceiling, columns and walls. This place is beautiful I thought. We were seated and our amazing server started providing five star service from start to finish. He told us the history of the restaurant and offered to take us downstairs to tour the vault. After a description of the menu and a few specials, we ordered and the evening just blossomed into something special. The food, service and ambiance were perfect. Then those damn Butter Rolls came out and I tried to resist to cut my carbs. Just one I said and then it was over. We devoured them all and wanted more. Some of the best rolls served in any restaurant in the world. The Crab Cake was perfect with large chunks of crab, a few veggies and very little fillers. It tasted like crab and that is how a Crab Cake should be. The Tomato and Burrata Salad was served with the Special Dover Sole that my wife ordered was delicious. Loved the Mortadella with the Cheese. What a combo. Then came the Wedge Salad which was one of the best Wedge Salads if not THE BEST in my life. Perfectly chilled and served with the BEST homemade dressing that I fell in love with. Each bite brought me happiness and wanting more. My Filet Mignon sealed the deal on this being one of the best meals of my life. The steak was seasoned and cooked perfectly. The flavor of the meat shined through. Whoever would put a sauce on this steak is crazy. Definitely one of the top five steaks of my life. Perfection! Everything was so good that I did not want to leave. Just wanted to sip my Cabernet and enjoy the moment and ambiance. The Manager came over to thank us and chat which was very nice and then came the Warm Butter Cake that sealed the deal on a great meal. Perfect end to an incredible meal and evening. My sincere thanks to everyone at Del Frisco's Philadelphia!
Wish I lived closer so I could enjoy this place more.
