TORISHIN HAWAII

Wow....this is a tough one to write, but I gotta call em like I eat em. We didn't care for Torishin Hawaii even though we loved the Chef, Waitress and Staff. Everyone was on their job, friendly, hospitable and professional. From the time we entered the small restaurant to the time we left everyone working here made us feel appreciated and welcome. After getting started the dishes come quite quickly. We were probably full half way through the 14 course Yakitori Omakase which cost $200 per person. My wife wanted to stop eating after seeing several cockroaches along the right side wall where the food is prepped, smoked and cooked. She wanted to say something but with other guests at the counter, I told her not too. Dish after dish of mostly chicken skewers just did not hit the mark on taste. I was craving salt, a sauce or something to be placed in front of me that made the entire evening worth it. Closest thing was an egg and meatball at the end. Disappointment would be an understatement especially when you see that their New York restaurant has received a Michelin Star. Wish I had a better review, but look at the photos below and let me know what you think.
