My gals finished their shopping in Ueno and picked me up where I was parked for several hours. They wanted dinner before taking the rail back to our hotel. We walked around and for some reason walked into this place which was completely filled with locals enjoying food, beer and cigarettes. Most people in the restaurant were smoking but the filtration system was so good that you barely saw or smelled the smoke. I ordered a cold beer because they did not offer wine and we began ordering which turned out to be some pretty great food. We were the only tourists or non-Japanese people in the place and we felt comfortable as at home. When each dish arrived we dug in and found everything to be delicious. Sashimi was super fresh, the Mackerel was delicious and the Calamari with Vegetables was perfect. After all the seafood we decided to order Yakiniku which didn't rate compared to the seafood. Really liked this place and would definitely go back again.
