The Pine Tree Cafe just past the Kona Airport is a solid "go to" spot for breakfast or lunch.  The place is usually packed with locals and contractors grabbing a bite.  The Menu behind the counter is huge and pretty unreadable because there is so much and the type is so small.  The endless variety of dishes causes many to stand and stare for minutes.  Specials are posted on a billboard and I think a lot of people just order off that.  I did and went with the Breakfast Burrito with Portuguese Sausage and no potatoes.  Pretty good.

                 Sunday 6:30 AM - 8:00 PM

When you fly into the Kona airport and head towards downtown Kailua Kona, you will pass the Pine Tree Cafe just five minutes from the airport.  We stopped in for an early breakfast and found the place filled with mostly locals and construction workers.  The menu is printed on large chalkboards located above the counter and kitchen.  There is also a small white board with hand written Daily Specials.  I saw Breakfast Burritos on the Special Board and decided to try one.  You can order your burrito with Ham, Spam, Bacon or Sausage.  I opted for a Vegetarian version.  The Breakfast Burrito ($7.95) was much better than I expected.  Filled with eggs, spinach, bell pepper, onions and tomato.  Served with sides of salsa and sour creme.  This was a very good a filling burrito.  The Loco Moco here is supposed to be fantastic and the regular breakfasts and omelette's looked to be large and delicious.  Looking forward to going back here again for breakfast or lunch.  Liked the quick service and food.
