We went to Taormina Sicilian Cuisine because it was a part of the Flavors of Waikiki festival which features restaurants serving three course meals at a special price. Problem was the special we had seen online was not mentioned in the restaurant by the staff or on the menu. Opted to order ala carte and was completely disappointed. Service however was excellent with our waiter being amazing. The Eggplant Caponata was a favorite of mine from a previous visit but on this occasion it was cold and very bland. I had to force myself to finish the dish along with my wife. The Nero "Frutti de Mare" I thought was decent but my wife didn't like it at all. She said the seafood was not fresh, not seasoned and tasteless. I tasted the Squid Ink Pasta and thought it was good. My $120 steak was cooked perfectly but even the Foie Gras (which was tiny) and Truffles (which were tasteless) didn't elevate this dish with flavor. Probably the first time ever where Truffles and Foie Gras were not appetizing. Think the Truffles were not fresh as they were a bit crunchy and had no aroma or flavor. Foie Gras was overcooked. Disappointed with this dinner to say the least.
